Charles asks…
Is it legal to download TV shows from mininova.org?
I know it’s illegal to download movies because of copyrights reasons, but what about V shows??
Nagesh answers:
It’s illegal for the exact same reasons – only the copyright holder has the right to distribute it. Also, when you download legally or watch a legal stream (like at hulu.com), the writers, actors and directors get paid. This is part of why the WGA went on strike last year, so they could get paid for downloads and iTunes sales. When you watch or download illegally, they don’t get paid.

Yes, downloaded several. Simply burn the movie on a dvd and watch it. You can also hook up your pc to the tv directly, if your tv supports it and watch.
Paul asks…
Using legal download music for personal movie?
I have put together a slide show for my Mom’s 80th and have downloaded some music from Yahoo and iTunes for a soundtrack to go under a narration. I did not realize they copy protect so my sound mixer (NCH mix pad) can’t work with it. Any suggestions on how to mix these songs? Should I use a different mixer or just mic the music?
Nagesh answers:
I don’t know anything about the program you’re using, but depending on how much music it is, you may just want to redownload them from walmart.com. Walmart.com is not compatible with ipods, but the site sells mp3s separately (for $.88/song) or completely albums (for $9.44/album or cheaper).
Although the music is copy-protected, you can make up to ten copies of each song for your personal backup collection. However, when you rip the music back to the computer (by using the burned CDs), the music is no longer protected (as long as there are not settings in Windows Media Player that protects ripped music).
Hopefully this new option will work for you. 🙂
Ruth asks…
I found a site called ch131 that has downloads of movies currently in US theaters. Is downloading them legal?
Nagesh answers:
Downloading from any site that provide free movies that are currently in theaters is illegal. Because you didnt pay for them, you are downloading for free.
Any site that provide copyright movies for free and download them is illegal because its against the copyright.

a legal site is hulu.com for tv shows, because they have commercial sponsors that pay for you to be able to watch them.
Netflixs for streaming video is a rental service and is legal since you are paying for it. Or any other service that you may pay to download movies that are on dvd.
Daniel asks…
UHH.. whats a gud website 4 me to download movies.?
ye. i downloaded graboid but my creditz is finished. i need to no were else i culd get movies. legal or illegal. thank u >_>
Nagesh answers:
I suggest that you get Mozzilla Firefox Web Browser and install the plug-in called Download Helper. This sweet baby will let you rip .avi/DIVX/Flash videos from practically any streaming site including You Tube, Stage Vu, Vidreel etc etc etc. Then just go to a site such as www.movies-links.tv, search for the movie your looking for, find a stream with a good picture quality and download at your leisure for absolutely zero dollars.
Hope this helps.
