Your Questions About Download Old Movies Songs

Robert asks…

Creative Zen, Zune or Ipod, which is the better choice?

I want to get my son Zen, but i don’t know of it’s the best choice. I want to be able to watch full length movies, and listen & record fm radio. I have an old computer so i cannot download anything, is there an adapter w/ any of these that can go into the TiVo(DVR), tv or dvd or cd player for music videos or movies. Is there a place that I can go to that can download songs, and/ or movies for me. If not is the downloading something that I can discreetly and quickly do at work from a more updated computer.

Nagesh answers:

If i was u i will buy a zune bec is better than a ipod and if more hip than ipod if u buying it for your son and have very fun color black-blue ,white-white,brown-green i hope i help.

Neither of them are bad. Neither of them are excellent:

ZUNE:
Not so good battery 8-12 hours
Amazingly big Screen
Much better video playback
Customizable (wallpaper, theme, etc)
WiFi song/photo sharing*
Thicker and heavier
Tactile controls (no accidental song changes/volume)
Same price as ipod.
Supports WMA, MP3, WAV formats
Displays Album art much, much nicer, larger than ipod

IPOD:
Smaller Screen
much better battery life 14 hours
NOTHING is customizable! Other than main menu
Tiny, thin, sleeker
Brighter, SLIGHTLY clearer screen
ONLY supports AAC and MP3 formats.
Small album art

Personally, ide take the Zune. Just cause it supports WMA and has a larger screen. Those 2 seal the deal, for me.

Sandy asks…

which mp3 download sites are compatible with my Zen Vision:M ?

And i don’t know which sites offer movies and videos and tv shows for downloading either. I have had this thing for almost 3 years and it holds something like 50,000 songs i believe, and it has about 50 on it. I don’t know how many movies it will hold. I don’t even know if i can download movies to my old decrepit computer to transfer to my player! I have never been able to watch videos on this computer, so it’s doubtful. Very frusterated. Smarty pants at electronics store told me this is the player i HAD to have. It comes with basically no instructions and its website is not helpful unless you know all the terms and lingo. I am only 37! Am i already too old to understand this stuff!? 🙂

Nagesh answers:

The Vision M is one of the best MP3 players ever made…

To put anything on it, well, you have to actually HAVE the music and videos, and you have to have installed the drivers for the Zen on your machine.

For Music, there are two ways:

1) Using Media player, all you need to do is click the “sync” tab and select your music from your library, right-click and select synch to device… This will make a list on the right side. Once you have all the songs that you want on this list, click the button (below the list) that says “Start sync”, and let it do it’s job… Once it’s transfered over, it will let you know.

2) Open an explorer, and you’ll see your Zen in two places. Ignore the first one that will use the name you gave your ZEN.

The second will be called Zen Vision M Media explorer. Open that one. Keep opening all the sub folders and you’ll see one that will say media library. In there you’ll see all sort of items. In the music one, you can just drag and drop music directly into it.

For video:

1) you need to have videos on your computer

2) if they are in the correct format (preferably a DivX or Xvid format), all you’ll to do is the same as the music #2 (above) but drop the files in the video folder.

3) if your videos are not compatible, a software will open and guide you through the conversion and load of the video… Just go through the instructions and wait for it to be done.

And that’s it.

There’s a lot more, and other ways to do all these things, but these are the simplest (I find).

One other simple way is: open an explorer, and open the Zen Vision M Media Explorer folder, and you will see the Creative software (as part of the explorer) where you can do all these things. Just follow the guides/intructions.

It might sound complicated, but once you’ve done it a few times, you’ll wonder why it felt so hard the first few times.

But just make sure that you’ve installed the software first.

Im 14 and I’m looking for some good movie I can download on iTunes. I like comody, romance, drama. Rated pg or Pg13. Movies like “the last song”are my favorite kind. Thanks:)

Nagesh answers:

“Where The Heart Is” with Natalie Portman is fantastic! It was my favorite when I was your age. I also really like “Uptown Girls” and “Just Like Heaven”. I think they’re really good fits for you. 😀 They all include comedy, romance and drama.

Is Torrent safe?

Hello, just today I happened to read about Torrent on Yahoo! Answers and I decided to install it, and I like it a lot. I will be using it to downloading “hard to find” media (old songs, movies etc..). I installed Azureus and Java, and I also read about this web site, Minerva… I was able to understand that this whole Torrent concept rotates around file sharing.

My question is, by having installed Torrent, did I automatically connect my computer to a chain of computers and did I give the authorization to other Torrent users to be able to download the material on my computer? As media, word documets etc… ? Will they be able to download my documents, passwords etc…? Is yes, is there a way to be able to just download and not UPload?

In addition, what are the other safety risks I am going through using this program? Thank you.

Nagesh answers:

Probably not safe, depends on how you define safe. Try getting old songs from other sources?

Can I re-download all my Itunes purchases?

My old computer containing hundreds of songs and movies purchased on Itunes crashed and finally died. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my external hard drive to back everything up. I was wondering, now that I purchased a new computer, can I re-download all my past purchases or do I have to buy them again?

Nagesh answers:

Download and install iTunes on your new computer, open iTunes, log into your iTunes account, authorise your new computer and you can download all files again.
