Your Questions About Fandango

Linda asks…

Is Fandango over as a heel?

Nagesh answers:

Well, he’s a whole hell of a lot more over than he was as “Johnny Curtis”.

In short, yes, Fandango is over. I know the internet fans despise him but when you think about it, what does that matter? Most internet fans despise everyone. Fandango hasn’t even wrestled a single match yet, not one, and he’s already more over than half the roster. I think that says a fair amount. He’s wrestling his “first” match at Wrestlemania against Chris Jericho. That’s pretty huge. And while I was hesitant about his gimmick when those hokey videos first started playing, he can actually do it well. Really well. He has the charisma to make it work. He’s comfortable in the role he’s playing.

Fandango is doing a hell of a job so far.

Donald asks…

Can you return movie tickets to Fandango?

I was trying to buy Harry Potter tickets and I accidentally bought them from 12:12pm on Wednesday instead of 12:00am Wednesday… Confusing! Anyway, I really would rather not have the $30-something charge on my debit card, can I return them somehow? Thank you!

Richard asks…

Picking up Fandango tickets from Cinemark?

I preordered tickets for May 1st on Fandango a few weeks ago and I went in on April 10th to see if I can pick them up from the kiosk using my credit card and they didn’t find any tickets. I went again yesterday to see if I can print them out, and still it said that tickets could not be found.

Will a confirmation number work instead? Do I need to call Fandango about the issue? I’ve already called the theater and they said that it works through Fandango and not Cinemark directly.

Also, how does it work if I print out tickets online? I’d rather not because I want to have an actual ticket stub to keep.

Nagesh answers:

Yes, you need the confirmation number. What else were you putting in? Did you select the “later date” option? Also, you’re supposed to select “pick up tickets”, NOT purchase tickets” I do it all the time for operas and special event showings. BTW save yourself the $1.50 Fandango fee and just go to the kiosk, select “purchase tickets”, then on the left select “future date”. Then just choose the date and the movie you want and buy the ticket at the regular price. And Fandango DOESN’T guarantee you a seat as they promise. There’s no reserved seating and if it’s a big picture you’d better get there early if you don’t want to get stuck in the first row. Fandango’s a huge rip-off, jsut go to the Cinemark, choose the “future date” option and buy your ticket at face value. Take it from someone who knows! But you DO need that confirmation number because that’s how the system finds your purchase. Next time you go to the Cinemark, if there’s not a line behind you do a little experimenting at the kiosk and try the above procedure. You’re not actually buying anything until you send the payment through, but it’ll be a good lesson learning how easy it is. Here’s another good idea: If you can go mid-week, they have only 1 ticket taker. You want to save money on 3D? Keep the glasses, look online for a movie starting around the same time, then go to the theatre and buy a ticket for the cheaper movie but go into the 3D auditorium with glasses in your pocket/purse/whatever. I got to the first “early-bird” movie and haven’t paid more than $7.00 to see any 3D movie ever! You CAN beat the system!

Ordering movie tickets from Fandango?

I was wondering about ordering movie tickets through Fandango (never done this) and was wondering how it works….do they print instantly like a Ticketfast concert ticket or do you pick them up at the movie theater? Thanks!

Nagesh answers:

When ordering with Fandango you can order your tickets one of two ways.

1) ONLINE – You simply go through the steps for ordering the tickets. The site is very easy to maneuver. At the end you’ll be given a confirmation page. MAKE SURE you print that out and bring it with you to the theater. At the theater give the cashier the EXACT credit card you used during the online transaction. The tickets will print out. If they don’t then flash them your confirmation page and they will fix the problem and ensure you get your tickets.

2) PHONE – You can order your tickets over the phone by calling 1-800-FANDANGO. You simply go through the steps that the automated teller says. At the end it should give you a confirmation number. SAVE THIS. Again, you go to the theater and give them the EXACT credit card used. If the tickets don’t print give them the confirmation number to correct the problem.

Fandango really does help in creating less chaos especially if the theater you go to has a T.O.M. – a machine where you go a print the tickets out yourself. On the subject of the tickets not printing out do not fret because it does not happen very often. The only reason it happens is usually due to a bad connection during the purchase.
