Lizzie asks…
is it illegal to trial game online?
I had a question about trialling/sampling wii games online removed from Yahoo
I simply want to see if they are something I want to buy my 5 year old (I’m concerned about some words like Brawl despite being told Mario Bros are for kids etc), I dont expose her to the news either.
Nagesh answers:
You don’t expose a 5 year old to the news?…
And you think “brawl” might be graphic…
You need to give her at least modest Exposure to the outside world or she’s in for a hell of a surprise when she hits secondary (or the american equivalent)
but trust be brawl has no gore bruising or dismemberment (despite swords…)
and yes trailing games online is illegal in the same way downloading movies is, everyone does it but no one really cares
John asks…
Is Plusnet broadband with a 10 gig monthly allowance good enough to play PS3 games online?
Nagesh answers:
>10gig may seem like alot of space, however, when you are talking about using ANY gaming that is live, you could go through that 10gig in less than a single day.
(One game, to download [not even playing it yet], straight from the PSN store can vary from 150kb, to 8.5gig – and that’s before installation & playing. That’s just the facts.)
>Most often it isn’t what you are doing with your character, but all the codes to make the scenes, or the quests, or the backgrounds.. Everything that makes the game immersive, and simply work seamlessly, it all Adds-Up quickly! Now, take your character, each move, each article of clothing/armor, the differences in styling of your character, if the game you’re playing has those qualities, again.. They add more code, not just in set-up & download, but in basic play online.
>Personally, I, & most of my gaming friends have unlimited internet, downloading/uploading, etc.
With PS3, Xbox, Wii, or PC games, unless you’re talking about downloading simplistic, older games, like Tetris, Pacman, (simpler games that do not need or require more than the initial download), that 10gig will be eaten up rather quickly.
>There are possible exceptions to this, however.
IF you aren’t a hardcore gamer, and only plan on playing a couple hours ONLINE a month, than yes, it should be sufficient. IF you’re just downloading, watch how much you download, and then play offline. But, those are *IF*s.
>IF, however, you want to get into the full experience of the PS3, from gaming (online), to watching free movies/animes/etc, to chats (which have some downloading, but not nearly as much)… This is only my personal recommendation: You might want to go for larger than a 10gig per month policy with your internet provider.
>One suggestion: Try going to the PlayStationNetwork.com website, & reading their forums. You can ask questions from people who have gone through this very question themselves, as well.
(Note: PlayStationNetwork.com, also known as PSN, is the Sony Gaming Division of the PS3.)
>Whichever way you decide, I hope your gaming experience is satisfying, & fulfilling!
Blessings!
