I have NO version of directx installed right now and im trying to find where i can download the full package and not just an upgrade. Plz don’t try to tell me that the computer all ready has it on it, trust me- it doesn’t. Links to sites (preferably microsoft) are appreciated.

Windows XP has Direct X 9.. Not Direct X 10.. If you are using Windows Vista, 7 they have Direct X 9 as well not Direct X 10

If you are running Windows Vista and up.. I would download and install Direct X 11.. That looks incredibly good.. Makes direct X 9 and 10 look like shitty!
DIRECTX 10 works with XP
Direct X 11 only works with Vista, and 7!!

How can I repair directx errors on my son’s computer?
I bought my son a high dollar gaming computer last year so he could play World of Warcraft. I don’t much approve of the game, since he spends so much time on it, but what can you do? Anyway, I need to know how to repair DirectX errors, since he’s getting them all the time. I thought he would be able to figure all this out, since he’s on it all the time, but we’re both stumped, and he’s losing his game. Can anyone help?
Nagesh answers:
I can see how he’s losing gaming time with getting DirectX errors. DirectX is software that controls his game controllers, so at least the problem might be isolated to the game. At least, for now. There are likely to be more problems down the road if you don’t do something soon.
There’s a place in your computer’s operating system called the registry. It’s the central holding place for all your software’s command files. If it gets cluttered, bad things start to happen. The thing of it is, it’s eventually going to get cluttered.
Your son may have wondered why his computer was running slower. It’s probably because his registry’s getting screwy. That’s usually the first thing that happens, then you start getting error messages. The DirectX files may even be damaged.
If you would have asked me a couple of years ago, I would have suggested sending the computer to the shop. Back then, you had to be a techie to fix registry issues. Nowadays, there are registry cleaning programs. It’s my favorite, and it can be found here: http://optimize-your-pc.com/regcure/directx.php. I’m willing to bet that once you use it, all the problems will be gone and it will run like new. It’s a lot cheaper than sending it to a shop or buying a new computer. If you use it regularly, you won’t have these problems again.

How can my program get read access to the video output from a DirectX game?
I want to make a program that is able to take screenshots from games that are using DirectX.
What is the best way to do this? Can I just call a function to get the current video buffer? Do I need to hook into the DirectX dll to be able to get access to its memory? Any other way to get a screen shot of what’s currently being rendered?
Thank you all for your answers!

Add the dll file to the game file
