What are the best sports editing software which is free download?

What are the best sports editing software which is free download? I am looking for the best editing software to edit hd sports videos. I am looking to make a sports video, Please can you answer my question quickly as I am looking to edit HD quality sports video.

Nagesh answers:

I wondered what your question was about. Sports editing – what is that? You use the same editors you use for any other type of video…

Take a look at the tutorials for Windows Movie Maker at http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/Tutorials/ – it may be WMM is all you need. It really is foolproof except that it’s picky in what file formats it takes and the lack of native support for multiple video and audio tracks are a definite disadvantage (but there are workarounds).

The version 2 series were probably the most versatile, you can find them here – http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/windows-movie-maker.html – but you’ll have problems installing the older versions on Windows 7. Windows Live Movie Maker is still good, but not so versatile.

Other free video editors are…

Wax – http://www.debugmode.com/wax/ – this is also a compositor – a bit like Adobe’s After Effects – – unlimited video and audio tracks
VideoLAN Movie Creator – http://videolan.org/vlmc/ – up to 64 audio and video tracks
TrakAxPC – www.trakax.com/software/pc/
VideoSpin – http://videospin.com/ – just 1 video track so you may as well use WMM
VideoPad – the free version – http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/
Lightworks – http://www.lightworksbeta.com/ – I like this one – unlimited tracks ?
Serif MoviePlus – http://serif.com/free-video-editing-software/ – unlimited tracks ?
Ezvid – ezvid.com/ – 32 video and audio tracks

Another is Zwei-Stein. This is a good editor but I found the interface to be absolutely horrible.

VirtualDub, RAD Video tools, AVITricks and Avidemux are also good tools you should look at. Although not full editors like the others they have some useful features.

Lightworks and Wax together are a very good video editing system for free.

All are safe, at least from the sites I’ve linked to.

If you want to spend some money then there are reviews of 14 video editors under $100 at http://video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/

More costly are video editors like Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere. Both of which are very good. Premiere is probably more advanced but harder to learn everything it can do.

How can i make special effects and gunshots and stuff?

i use windows live movie maker and i want to make movies with prop guns and have special effects to make them look like there relaly shooting bullets and i have dud grenades and i want to know how to make special effect explosions… do you know any free progams where i can use this stuff and mkae it? like the stuff they use in the old action movies and stuff to mkae it look realish… im not asking for hollywood just something free to use

Nagesh answers:

The easiest way – and it still isn’t very easy – is to use a video effects software to do the effect on a clip from the main video you’re creating and then import this little clip back into the main video. Unfortunately, of the best free video effects software, the best one (JahShaka) has been discontinued and the other, Wax, might not work on Windows 7. In Vista, you can always right click the installer that you download and run in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP but I’ve read that Windows 7 doesn’t have Compatibility Mode.

There are some tutorial links on the right and you can also find Wax tutorials on YouTube.

Some people who really know Movie Maker (Vista version 6.0) have created their own special effects by using a clip of an explosion and a Picture In Picture effect. This is called “compositing”. These people know how to code the location of the second clip on the main video. Some of them also use Microsoft’s Expression Encoder to do effects in Movie Maker. Here’s an example:
