How do you play your version of windows movie maker on a computer with a newer version?
Like, I have an older version. I have to present for school tommorow and my teacher has a newer version, so mine does’nt play. Is their anyway to convert it?
Nagesh answers:
Here are some tips for converting the movies into a different file format- http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-vista/Convert-music-videos-and-pictures-from-one-format-to-another.
You might also want to download the newer version for your PC if you have Vista. You can download it for free here- http://download.live.com/moviemaker

In what ways do you get into serious trouble when downloading roms?
I notice when people download roms, some people say it is illegal. I just want to be cautious and know what not to do when downloading roms because I don’t want to get into serious trouble.
Nagesh answers:
It depends on your location and what you are downloading. In general, producers want to go after the people making and spreading these pirate copies and they will tend to defend copyrights on games still in production more than old console titles.
But just like with illegal movie downloads, occasionally a games producer will want to make an example of people just to remind people that piracy IS ILLEGAL and there can be serious repercussions if you are caught. Happened out here only a couple of years ago.
If you aren’t regularly downloading large quantities of roms or distributing them, then the chances that any company would waste time and money on prosecuting you are pretty slim (likely close to zero)… But there is always a chance.

Is there a way to download movies from Netflix or wherever to your TV without having a PS3, Wii or Playstation?
And how can you do that to more than one tv in your house? I have one HDTV in the family room and 2 older sets elsewhere. I also have FIOS to my house for internet and phone if that helps. (For TV I currently have an antenna.)
Nagesh answers:
You could use a pc or laptop with an output to the tv ( with a compatible tv ) or buy a blu-ray player or tv with built in netflix capabilities . The only way you’ll get netflix streaming is with a compatible device with internet hookup
some new TVs and blu-ray players have an internet connection and built in netflix apps like used on the ps3 , wii and xbox360
you actually aren’t downloading from netflix , you’re streaming videos .
A ps3 or wii is the easiest option because they can use wifi and be moved from one tv to another easily

Windows movie maker- how to use a video only for the audio?
I know in the old version of moviemaker there was a video timeline and an audio timeline, but i guess the new version doesn’t have that. Can anyone help me out?
Nagesh answers:
Im not getting what you are trying to do.
Are you trying to get a video and remove the audio, or use a video and remove the video just so you keep the audio?
To remove the audio from a video, just go to the audio tab and i believe there is a mute or remove audio checkbox, just check that.
To remove the video portion from a video so you are left only with audio, i dont think you can use windows movie maker for that.
There are many programs that can rip audio from videos.
Id say the best option would be to use something like audacity ( http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/beta_windows ).
Make sure to get the lame mp3 encoder and the ffmpeg library from that page aswell (which is what you would need for this).
That way you can edit the audio from the video and save it as any audio format.
I hope you wouldnt be using this to steal music from youtube… Please support the artists and purchase the music. Also if you buy music you will get good quality 256-320Kbps, where as downloading from youtube will get you 90-120Kbps crap. You can set it to 320Kbps, but it will still be the same quality as the original.
