Jenny asks…

How do I protect my iPod Touch applications and photos after I lost the host computer?

Here is the problem.

When I bought my iPod Touch I registered it to a computer. When I try to plug it into a different computer, it warns me that I will lose all my applications if I switch computers. The original computer that I registered my iPod to no longer exists so I need a new host computer.

I do not want to lose the information on my iPod, they are too important. How can I change computers without losing the info on my iPod?

Thank you.

Nagesh answers:

You need to authorize your new itunes library with the SAME itunes account you used to purchase your old apps. You can re-download any application after you have bought it from the itunes store as many times you want.

After you authorized your new computer right click or control click the ipod tab then click “Transfer purchased music and video” for any songs or movies you bought from the itunes store

If you want to back up music/videos you downloaded from other sources like Amazon.ca to your new computer, please try
http://www.getsharepod.com/ it is a free automatic backup solution that supports all ipod models.

How do I start a conversation with a cute girl who sits behind me in class?

We’ve already introduced each other I just need to know how to start a conversation up.

Nagesh answers:

You might try a little show and tell. Find some interesting item that demonstrates your interests, like downloading a new song on your MP3 player, tell her about it, and offer to let her listen to the song. Or, take some pictures around the school, and show her the pictures. Or, bring some candy or gum to school, and offer her some, and talk about which candy you like and don’t like. Or go see a movie, and ask her if she’s seen it, and if not, tell her about it, and if so, talk about your impressions of it, and see what she thought of it. Or, if there’s something due in class, ask her if she’s started on her project yet, and then mention where you are at on it. Or compliment her on something, and ask about it. Or, just treat her like she’s an old friend, and just share whatever is on your mind. Drop into your chair, and mutter, “Wow, I’m tired today. Didn’t get much sleep last night.” Or, say, “My brother is driving me CRAZY. Do you have a brother?” Or, ask her what the assignments are today.

What do I do about this problem with syncing my mp3?

when i try to download these songs onto my mp3 it says “Windows Media Player cannot sync the file to your device. The file might be stored in a location that is not supported. Copy the file from its current location to your hard disk, add it to your library, and then try to sync the file again.”
and i don’t know what to do about this? help, por favor :p

Nagesh answers:

First, let me say I never liked Windows Media Player – didn’t find it “user friendly” at all…..

When I was using my generic player – I preferred to copy-paste the files in. Today, I have an iPod touch – so I’m using my old player like a disk on key to move stuff around (8 GB is a lot).
If its bigger then a word document – I like to copy it to the hard drive first, and work on it from there.
Don’t like to watch movies or work on power point files either – as it might get stuck / overload the player.

So if you are using a disk on key, copy your mp3 files to the computer’s hard drive (like it tells you to) and try again.
Copy the files into “My documents” should do the trick.
