Your Questions About Download Old Movies Songs

Susan asks…

If I remove my harddrive from my computer will all my itunes data be on there?

My processor is fried so my dad is gonna remove the hard drive to get all of my data off of there. But I’ve purchased movies and songs and stuff from itunes and i’m wondering if I remove my harddrive and put it into another computer will all my itunes shizzle be on there?

Nagesh answers:

Yes it will be, however, you must get a new hard drive to transfer all of the data to, you cannot simply use the old for the new. The old hard drive will be loaded with separate drivers that make it function as the “master” hard drive on the old hardware.

But yes, just plug the old hard drive into your new computer, and when you boot it up, you should be able to transfer files over.

If you are unable to view the hard drive, try using a liveCD version of the opensource operating system called Ubuntu (download here):

I hope this helps!

How to update ipod on a new computer and keep the songs?

I have all my music on my computer which is where I used to live. i now use a laptop (I moved out, left my real computer at home).
My ipod has 3845 songs and 4909 pics on it.
I want to update my ipod; by putting the new songs which are on my laptop (300 songs) onto the ipod, but still keep the old 3845 songs from my computer as well.
I know if I plug my ipod into the laptop it will update and remove all my songs from the other computer

Nagesh answers:

Yes, if you directly click sync and erase, it will erase all music on your iPod and replace with the content of this iTunes library.
But here is a good solution. Simply use MediaWidget to move all library files from your iPod back to your computer and iTunes http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/MediaWidget.htm

It can transfer all iPod content to the iTunes on your computer, including iPod music, movies, playlists, videos, photos, podcasts, ratings, last played, and more. It’s such a powerful one that many friends around me have used it for a long time. Easy and safe.

Now all songs (both new and old) are on your computer and iTunes, and you can sync your iPod with it safely without deleting any files.

Just free download it to try.

Steven asks…

How many song will i have to download to fill 1tb?

I am looking at the new iMac and it has 1tb of space so I want to know if that is enough to use because I want to keep this computer for many years.

Nagesh answers:

THOUSANDS, to put it simply. You can download more songs than you’ll ever need. But you must also know that a 1 tb drive will have space dedicated to the OS (operating system), then your programs, pictures, documents, movies, etc.

An example, I have 2400 individual mp3s. Most are in the 4 to 6 mb file size. Although about 24 are an entire album long (70 minutes) and are about 70 to 100 mb. All these files take up 13.2 gb.

So, provided you don’t download hundreds of 1080p HD movies, and you remove/delete old stuff you don’t use anymore (old programs and the like) a 1tb drive should last you for a few years without filling. My 1tb drive has only 300 gb filled, while my external drive has 2 tb of which 1.18tb is used (complete backup of my main hdd plus quite a few large videos, pictures, documents etc)
