Your Questions About Download Old Movies Songs

Carol asks…

Is there a way to view pictures from my computer on my PS3?

If there is, can it be downloaded to my playstation’s hard drive instead of transferring using a sd card? I have Vuze but its only allowing me to view songs and movies.

Nagesh answers:

There is a program called TVersity which can share any kind of media via blutooth and it needs to be windows XP or higher. So if ur computer is really old u cannot use it.

But it can also be used for downloading videos of the internet.

Here’s a link to download it

Susan asks…

Can you recover your itunes library if your computer has been rebooted?

My computer was recently rebooted before I could back up my libraries onto a back up disc. I have all of the songs still on my ipod but I have a brand new itunes program and there is no way to recover my old itunes file. If I transfer purchases onto my new itunes program will it transfer the songs that I have not bought but added from other cds?

Nagesh answers:

Hello there, as long as your songs are still on your iPod, you can get them back to your computer and iTunes easily.
This is how I did. I used MediaWidget to move all library files from my iPod onto my computer and iTunes http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/MediaWidget.htm

It can transfer all iPod content to the iTunes on your computer, including iPod music, movies, playlists, videos, podcasts, ratings, last played, and more. It’s such a powerful one that many friends around me have used it for a long time. Easy and safe.

Now all files are on your computer and iTunes, you can sync your iPod with it smoothly without deleting any files.

Just free download it to try.
For more iPod support information you can also go to http://www.apple.com/support/

Sandra asks…

I’m thinking about buying a ps3 slim 120gb. I just want it to store game memory only. Is it enough?

I will not be downloading movies or songs the system. Just strictly for game play. That’s what I have a lap top and desk top for. I do not like having to delete my other games. How good is a 120gb for just game play? $299.00 just sounds too good to be true. If its lagit I’m going to buy it pronto.

PlayStation 3

Review:
As a proud owner of a PS3, I was closely following developments of when the rumored (and highly-anticipated) PS3 Slim would come out. After shelling […] for the PS3 80GB back in 2008, I was really excited to hear that Sony not only announced a smaller version of the PS3, but also implemented a [long-overdue] $100 price cut. I immediately went out and bought the Slim as soon as possible, and am very happy with it so far. Here are my impressions:

COMPARED TO PLAYSTATION 3 “FAT”
A LOT SMALLER
I heard that it was smaller, but seeing is believing! The photos don’t do the system justice, and it’s not really till you see and feel the difference that you are impressed with it. If you can, go into your local game store and check it out for yourself! If you’ve previously owned a Playstation console, you already know the difference the slimmer version makes when compared to the original, bulky ones. What’s really convenient is that the slimmer PS3 not only means your video gaming is more portable, but that you have a really convenient Blu-Ray player.

NOT A FINGERPRINT MAGNET
I love the sleek look of my PS3 Fat, but don’t like how it constantly needs to be cleaned. The glossy finish is a fingerprint magnet! The matte finish on the Slim is much easier to maintain. That being said, it doesn’t look as shiny and cool, but I think its convenience outweighs that.

MORE STORAGE
Storage was never an issue for me on my 80GB system, but for those who wanted more storage, you get 40GB more with this system (120GB in total). It may not seem like much, but you can hold MANY movies, pictures, and music albums with 120GB. If that’s still not enough, you can always install a 2.5″ hard drive yourself, or better yet, plug in an external hard drive in one of the USB ports. You can easily get a portable 500GB external hard drive for less than $100, or a bigger, bulkier one with around 1TB of storage for roughly the same. That being said, I think 120GB for $300 should be more than enough for most users, and is a significant improvement over the 80GB for $400 that people were paying just a few weeks ago!

STILL NOT BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE
This is my one major gripe with the Playstation 3. It really wouldn’t have killed Sony to include this feature, as the original Playstation 3’s did in fact include backwards compatibility with older Playstation 2 games. A lot of people counter by either saying (1) it doesn’t make sense to buy a PS3 to play PS2 games, (2) the graphics on the PS3 are better anyway so why bother with older games, and (3) including backwards compatibility would cannibalize PS3 game sales.

While those arguments might have their merits, I’m still frustrated that my massive PS2 library can’t be played on the PS3, and was really hoping that Sony would include backwards compatibility on the Slim! I loved the fact the PS2 was backwards compatible with PS1 games, and really wish that Sony would reconsider this decision.

COMPARED TO OTHER SYSTEMS:
PS3 vs. WII
I think comparing the PS3 directly to the Wii is a bit like comparing apples to oranges, since they offer such different experiences. The Wii in my opinion is more family-friendly, while the PS3 is better for more graphics-intense games geared towards different gemographics. I’m a huge fan of Nintendo, and I love their very family-oriented game offerings. I own a DS and Wii and still love Mario as much as the days back when I played the original Nintendo (NES). In addition, I think Nintendo’s motion-sensitive controllers for the Wii are very innovative and fun to play with! Unfortunately however, for most gamers, the difference in game quality is noticeable when comparing the two systems. The PS3 has AMAZING graphics. On an HD Television, you notice such crisp details while playing the PS3. The Wii features only Standard Definition output, which noticeably weakens it when compared to the other next-gen consoles such as the PS3 and Xbox 360.

PS3 vs. XBOX 360
Microsoft has an impressive gaming console in their Xbox 360 and there are some amazing titles exclusive to the Xbox, but in the end you get less bang for your buck when compared to the Playstation 3:

(1) Online gameplay: You can use the Playstation Network’s online features without having to pay a subscription fee like you do for the Xbox. I was never a big online gamer but now I enjoy playing against opponents online.
(2) Internet connectivity: Built-in wireless internet connectivity on the PS3 is a much better bet than having to buy a wireless network adapter for the Xbox. Of course you can simply rely on a wired Ethernet connection, but this might be inconvenient depending on your set-up.
(3) High-Def Video: The Playstation 3 doubles as a Blu-Ray player. Microsoft bet on the wrong horse when they were hoping that HD-DVD would come out the winner in the high-def format wars. If you want a Blu-Ray playe

How can I make my MacBook faster?

My MacBook (Snow Lion, 1.5 years old) has been running slowly lately, and has been giving me the spinning rainbow a lot. How can I make it run faster?

Nagesh answers:

Fact: People say “slow” for any of four meanings…
— Safari is slow loading web pages (Test your connection speed at the link below. Should be 500 or higher. Fix a low speed by paying for a wider bandwidth account with your Internet service company).
— Youtube HD videos stall and start again. (Fix this also with a wider bandwidth account). This is not really slowness, but is a dropping of video frames — the movie just stops for a second, and then starts again. Slow video, on the other hand, is called “Slow motion” and means people look like they are floating through the air when they jump.
— Word or other font-using app is slow to launch (Fix by troubleshooting, or reducing the number of, fonts).
— The third or fourth big app you try to launch is slow to open (Fix by buying/installing more RAM).
— All kinds of slowness is happening. For this, read on…

Fact: Computer systems run “overall” slower than optimum for these four reasons…
— Bad RAM, although you would expect other glitches besides just slowness. Test RAM with Rember, link below. Replace RAM that tests bad– Did I need to mention that? Haha!
— The HDD file system has minor corruption. (Fix it using Disk Utility).
— The HDD is full (Needs at least 10% available space. Fix it by trashing large documents you downloaded and EMPTY THE TRASH — many people forget to do this).
— The user account has too many or too big Login Items. (Fix it by removing Login Items).

Myth: “Having lots of files on the HDD slows the computer.” This is utter nonsense, as only system and user login files load into RAM. The documents just hanging out on the HDD are not affecting the system’s speed at all. Those 10,000 songs on the HDD do not play every time you start up the system. They just sit and wait.

Myth: “Gremlins accumulate like dust bunnies in the file system and start to block the air or Qi or whatever, thus slowing the computer.” Hogwash. Windows can have some malware issues, but OS X does not get slowed by viruses, since there are no actual OS X viruses currently in circulation.

Myth: “Cache, cookies, and history slows OS X.” This is my biggest pet peeve. Cache has the explicit job of speeding the system. Cookies and history are simple database text files and have no effect on anything except keeping track of logins or where you’ve been surfing. Only font cache can sometimes become corrupt, and you clear that quite easily by starting once in Safe Boot.

Myth: “Fragmentation slows OS X.” Anyone who has used a Mac for ten years or more (me? 15 years) knows that Mac OS has never had any problem with fragmentation. Only Final Cut Pro has some issues with dropped frames when dealing with many huge (10 GB or larger) video files during rendering to a fragmented drive volume. That’s why all pro video editors use a huge external HDD (or several), copy from one HDD to another, erase that first HDD, and never render to the system volume. That nips fragmentation in the bud. For us non-pro video editors, it just doesn’t matter. Even if you run a defrag app, it finds such a tiny amount of fragmentation as to amaze you, and no speed improvement comes from it.

Truth: Erasing the HDD and installing the OS fresh will fix three of the four reasons above, but it is unnecessary. Do the fixes listed for these four issues above. There are exactly two reasons to erase a computer’s startup drive:
— The file system has problems that cannot be repaired by Disk Utility.
— The startup drive is full, and you don’t know how or don’t want to take the time to delete stuff.

There are a couple of very rare issues that can cause HDD space to disappear mysteriously in OS X, but don’t think about it until you attend to the four likely suspects above.

Songs to warm up to before a basketball game?

I’m in middle school, and we have a home basketball game coming up. We always run out to old music. Some friends and I are looking for new songs to get us pumped before our games. They can’t have any bad words– or there has to be a clean version available to download. I have to burn all the songs to a cd before tonight. So far, I have “Do the John Wall” by Troup 41 and “Remember the Name” by Fort Minor. Anyway others? Thank you. (:
