Daniel asks…

How do you have music downloaded on one computer automatically be transferred to another on iTunes.?

I have home sharing on but how do u make the music that i downloaded on my computer transfer automatically via home sharing.

Nagesh answers:

ICloud is the answer.
Which is free which does this easily.
One of the ways is taking advantage of iCloud which believe it or not you already have an account for.

1. On your new computer either it be a Mac or PC go to iTunes and sign in the iTunes Store.
You may or may not have to confirm credit card details while doing that.

2. After you are signed in, look on the right hand side for purchased.

3. Click Purchased

4. It should load all your purchased songs, apps, movies etc.

5. Click music if it is not already showing your music

6. Click all songs

7. Then on the top right click “not in my library”

8. On the bottom left click download all

Now all of your iTunes purchased music will have been downloaded.
If you really don’t want to upload all your CD’s to your computer I would recommend purchasing the iTunes match service.

When using iTunes match you should start this service on your old Mac or PC.

Go to the iTunes match link I provided which will have a video and all the information you need to learn about it. Http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match…

In brief it is a service that scans your library and due to the more than 20 million songs in the iTunes Store it be able to will detect if any of the non iTunes purchased songs are stored their.
It will then give you the ability to re download all the non iTunes purchased music you had in your old computers library to your new one for free as part of the service.

Now here is the clever part.
If iTunes is unable to find any of the tracks from your library it will be only those that iTunes match will automatically upload to the cloud for you to re download the same way.

You should go to the iCloud link I gave you to learn more about iCloud.
There is even a short video which you will get a better understanding from. (3rd link I provided).

ICloud is free which covers the majority of the restoration process.
The iTunes Match Service is an additional feature that you can purchase which will like I said be for do all the magic when it comes to getting all your music back from non iTunes purchased music.

I suggest going to all of the sites and watching the videos get the whole idea.

ICloud does not only cover music the video on http://www.apple.com/icloud/ will explain it.

The 2nd last link I added is the iCloud home page which using your apple ID which is the same as your iTunes log in details you can have access to so many more things you never knew you needed for free.

Good luck!!

P.S
If you have read all the way through I thank you so much.
I spent quite a while writing these instructions and accidentally lost it all but was able to get it back some how.
I have attended several of the free workshops at the apple store which you can attend to by reserving a seat at your nearest apple store. (click on the last link to learn more)

Sandy asks…

Can you use your iTunes account on two different computers?

So our old computer recently went kaputs. We were able to save all of our files first luckily, which includes my itunes. Right now we are using an old computer until we get a new one, but that might not be for a while. Anyway, I guess my question is, if I log into my iTunes account will it be ok, will I be able to access everything? And will it work again when I log in on our new computer once we get it?

Nagesh answers:

Your music is unfortunately all stored on the computer that your iTunes is on. However you can still use the iTunes account on up to 5 computers. Just be sure to authorize it (Store>authorize computer). To get all your music back you can either sync your iPod up and go to File> Transfer Purchases (This will only sync songs that were bought through iTunes. Should you not have an iPod then you need to go through Apple’s customer service where they will do a one time re-download of all the music, apps, movies, etc. You ever bought on iTunes.
