help using direct2drive?
i bought 3 sims game. they all finished downloading. i do not know what to do now? i tried opening up the files but none of them take me to the game. i have game manager and none of my games are showing up in there. if no one answers 59$ just went to waste.

Direct2Drive re-download Civilization 4?
I bought Civilization 4 on Direct2Drive a little while back using PayPal, so I didnt have to make an account on their site.
I had to restore my computer, and cant seem to download it again unless I buy it again. How do I download the thing for it where it says
“Buy now” and such?

I would call Direct2Drive and tell them that I purchased Civilization IV using PayPal, but that I didn’t create an account on the Direct2Drive website. Hopefully, you paid recently enough that they will be able to find your payment record. You should also be able to provide them with the specific information about your PayPal debit, including the exact date and amount. I would request that they arrange for you to download Civ 4 again, and that you get an access code (or whatever method they use) so that if anything else goes wrong, you will be able to download Civ 4 for a third time if necessary.

I want to buy this PC game off of this site, but I was wondering; is the site is legit? It would be much easier than buying the game from a website and waiting for it to ship. If I use this site, what advice would suggest? Back it up on a CD after purchase? Thanks in advance!!!

The site is absolutely legit. I’ve never used it myself, but that’s mostly because I’m an old fogey who likes wandering the shelves at the game store. :p I don’t know if the games can be backed up to CD/DVD, sorry. I’d recommend checking the FAQ on the website.
The only bad thing I know about Direct2Drive is that there’s something…weird…about their games. Compression, maybe? Specifically, TES4: Oblivion, when purchased from Direct2Drive.com, has something weird with it where it can’t be patched in the normal fashion…something like that. Something weird, I don’t know anything more about it than that. But to answer your original question: Yes. Direct2Drive.com is a legit website.
