Your Questions About Firefox

Jenny asks…

How do I open file links with firefox instead of downloading and saving them?

When I click on files such as my online lecture notes, firefox automatically downloads them to my desktop. I just want them to open from the source and not have to save them. How can I change this?

Nagesh answers:

Download Mozilla Firefox 3.7.5, this version released last week fixes this issue. But since this is not released to public yet, try downloading from torrent. Here is another source below where you can get it.

How can i fix my firefox internet browser?

Firefox on my computer is really slow and all the videos are choppy as is the sound? My internet explorer works fine but i prefer firefox. What should i do to fix it?

Nagesh answers:

You can try re-installing firefox, if by chance that does not work, you may want to try going to www.techsupportalert.com, this is a site full of freeware and reviews for everything, go into pc tools and tune up, and download advanced system care, this program is so very sweet, and will find problems with your registry and automatically fix them, it also has a more extensive disk cleanup and a few utilities you may find very useful. I use it myself and recommend it to all my friends, and it wont cost you a dime. Also under security is some spyware and trojan removal programs, i myself use superantispyware, along with asquaredfree, and both these programs will run nicely with whatever virus scan you are using, or you can get a free one there. Alright, sorry to go on like this, hope i helped.

How do I save all my Firefox bookmarks to my flash drive?

I have a work computer on which I’ve saved lots of bookmarks on my Firefox browser. How can I save these bookmarks to my flash drive, so I can access them on whatever computer I happened to be connected to? I haven’t been able to do a copy and paste in any way.

Nagesh answers:

Try this.(Firefox 3.5 ver.)

1. To export bookmarks as html, go to Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Export html
(Save it to flash drive location).

To import from HTML via Bookmarks,
click on bookmarks>organize bookmarks>import and backup>import html.

2. Click on Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup >Backup (select location) > Choose File
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Restore > Choose File

How do I choose where my downloads are saved in Firefox?

I am using Firefox 2 I think on a Windows XP. I want to download something but I don’t want it to save to my desktop, which is what it is set to do. How can I change the settings so it saves to my documents instead?

Thanks!

Nagesh answers:

You can set your default download location to a different path from
tools>options>Main>downloads

(main > downloads is exactly from firefox 3, it should be same in firefox 2)
First I would suggest you to upgrade your firefox to latest version.
