Your Questions About Direct Tv Customer Service

Sandy asks…

Dish Network or Direct TV?

Nagesh answers:

Direct TV way better customer service is amazing

Robert asks…

Direct tv or dish tv who is better?

What or who is the better company?
Calling one tomorrow, help?

Nagesh answers:

Direct tv and dish are very similar companies, with very similar product, but is I were you, I would choose dish, because although direct tv pampers their new members more than dish does, after a few months, the discounts go away, and your bills go up and up inexplicably, and customer service stops being so helpful, and when you try to leave, direct tv goes into extortion mode. All sorts of charges for things that didn’t happen, they often ask you to send back your boxes, and then claim that you didn’t send them, and charge you hundreds of dollars for them anyway. I personally prefer direct tv in the way of hardware, but in the end, they’ll draw you in with cheap offers for the first 12 months, and then milk you for all you’re worth. That’s why if I were you I’d pick dish, who, although may be slightly more expensive up front, have good customer service, and want you in for the long run.

Nancy asks…

Which is better direct tv or dish network?

DIrect by far..the customer service on the Dish is horrible and the NFL package is unbeatable.

Mark asks…

I need help canceling my Direct TV service. Please help!?

I have moved to a new location where they are “cable ready” and don’t allow Direct TV or other things like satellites. I already told the representative (who by the way was in Mexico) that I could not get out of the contract and that the only thing I could do was to “suspend” the service for a while.

This happened yesterday afternoon. I had also called, previously and go someone that I would not incur any penalties for canceling the service if the Home Owners Associates did not allow me to.

This is why I am all so confused now. What do I do to get out of this contract without the penalties. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Nagesh answers:

Call the 800 number, ask for customer retentions department. Explain to them you have moved and the new association won’t allow satellites and borderline beg for a one time exception to cancel service free of fee. Tell them you really enjoyed the service, and would certainly consider recommend it to your friends and would certainly consider it again in the future once you upgrade your residential situation again.

If the rep doesn’t hook you up, hang up and call again to get a different rep. Some are more easy to push than others, some are genuinely more understanding then others. If this doesn’t work after 3 – 5 times, make threats that you won’t pay, and you will post all over the internet how much they suck, and you will go to the BBB to explain how they duped you into the service and the fine print was really hidden.

Lots of work sometimes, but you can just about always find a way.

Carol asks…

Direct TV?

Does anyone have Direct TV? Do they like it? And how does the installation process work?

Nagesh answers:

I have it and I love it. Basically some contractor installs the dish on the roof and give him about a hundred bucks. Way better than what my local cable company was offering and their customer service is divine in comparison to *cough*Comcasr*cough**cough*.
