Can I easily replace my Direct TV satellite dish with a new one?
I have a dual LNB Direct TV satellite dish, and I also pay extra for HD channels. Yet I did not replace the dish with a new one, and I only recieve about 8 HD channels. I am thinking about buying one online for around $30-50 and installing it myself. I was wondering if I was able to simply switch out the dish, or if I had to call up Direct TV and have them install it.
Nagesh answers:
If you feel comfortable with it there’s no reason you can’t install the dish. Use the tone and bar offered from the satellite menu to peak the dish for best performance. If you don’t feel comfortable call a local dish installer that deals with Direct TV.

How to put in Direct tv into a room without cable outlet.?
Hi, Im dumb when it comes to this stuff so bare with me..
We have 2 direct tv receivers. The house we are moving into does not have a cable outlet in the bedroom, What are our options? We would like to do the most cost effective, and without having to put holes in walls. We are renting the house we are moving into, and the home owner is very nice in letting us do what we need.
Even if we can just run a cable along the outside of the wall, we would like to do that.
Nagesh answers:
I highly doubt that is possible. Unless the box has a wireless ready mode for the Dishes LNB and a wireless LNB would be required.
The receiver would communicate wirelessly with the dishes LNB.
If not, than you will need a technician to install lines or grab a coaxial cable and install it.

How can I hook up a Playstation 3 to a Direct TV input?
My TV doesnt have the input to hook up a PlayStation 3 right to my TV so i am trying to hook it up via my direct TV box. The only problem is it isn’t working. It won’t let me change inputs at all and i tried to format my remote but that didn’t work either. What should i do? I’m all out of ideas.
Nagesh answers:
What type of tv are you using, every tv well anything made in past 10 years will have AV inputs. If yours is older then that I suggest you buy a newer one. But if it has it and your AV inputs are used by your direct tv box. By a switcher. That you can plug multiple devices into and by the press of a button it will switch to each device. You can get them pretty cheap. I got one for 5 dollars but I only use it for sound.

Is it possible to transfer television to PS3 using a Direct TV DVR?
My brother and I just got Direct TV and are trying to transfer our DVR downloads to our PS3. I have heard about PlayTV but is it possible to do this with a Direct TV DVR? Is there some cord I need to buy or is this just not possible?
Nagesh answers:
No, I have spoken with Direct TV tech people about a very similar subject, and at this point, the USB connectors on this unit are disabled by Direct TV software. (You could hack it I suppose, but am not sure how)
