How can I have a fedex signature required package picked up at the store?
I bought something, and it’s coming via Fedex with a required signature. I won’t be at home, so Is their any way I can have them ship it to the neared fedex store so I can pick it up?:
Nagesh answers:
*Usually* this isn’t too big an issue.
Some shippers (Verizon for one…) have a requirement with Fedex that their shipment(s) cannot be held at a Fedex store until after at least one delivery attempt has been made.
A few even have ‘no HAL’ (Hold At Location) specified.
There are a couple ways to get around this.
The best and most sure way (though not the easiest) is to contact the shipper and ask *them* to request Fedex deliver the package to a convenient location (check Fedex.com ahead of time to determine what locations are available).
The easiest way is to just contact Fedex yourself (1-800-GoFedex) and request that they hold the package at a nearby location. If the shipper has restrictions as noted above, one way to ‘get around’ the restriction that I have used is to send a request that the driver does *not* deliver your package – and just hold it at the hub/station. It won’t get sent to a nearby Fedex/Kinkos – but it would be there at the delivery station in the morning for you to pick up.

What happens when FedEx collects a package from your home?
I am sending a package to America tomorrow and FedEx are coming to collect it. Do they just come and take it or do they do other stuff like open the box etc?
Nagesh answers:
If you have all the paperwork all filled out, they’ll just come and take it. You’ll need an Int’l Air Bill and quite probably a commercial invoice. Fedex doesn’t really care what’s in the box -so long as it’s legal to ship- unless the paperwork is wrong. With the paperwork correct they’ll take it, and FYI the paperwork actually becomes a legal document and customs will take a look at it.

How long does fedex take to deliver from chorley to London?
I’ve just recieved an email with tracking number from the site I ordered from, and I tracked my package. It status says, ” consignment data recieved” what does this mean, and how long does it take fedex to deliver. It’s due to be delivered to me tomorrow.. From chorley to London, will my package get here by tomorrow?
Nagesh answers:
It means that Fedex have received information regarding the package and know they have to pick it up. Yes it will get there tomorrow, if that’s what they say.
Robert asks…
Is it legitimate to send lots of merchandises overseas via Fedex without going the right way to avoid tax?
I wanna send some stuff to my cousin in Brazil so he can sell it over there with much higher price, I am gonna ship it via Fedex or any other carrier so we don’t have to pay tax .
Is it illegal and if it is, would it be on my side or on his side?
Thanks guys.
Nagesh answers:
Clearly you haven’t done this yet. Sending merchandise via Fedex, UPS, DHL, or any other 3rd party shipping service tends to ensure that all customs duties are paid. Worse, all of these companies charge an extra fee for the privilege of getting your package through customs. The only slippage seems to occur when you ship via the post office.
2nd, any statement you make on the customs form is a statement on a government document. As sender, it’s a felony for you if you are caught lying.
Linda asks…
why is fedex taking so long to get from burlington to stanwood washington?
Ok so according to fedex tracking the package was “On FedEx vehicle for delivery” at 7:36 in the morning, it is now 1:28 in the afternoon, i know the bridge is down but it shouldn’t take 6 hours.
Nagesh answers:
FedEx delivers from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. If tracking says “Out for Delivery” you’ll get your package sometime during those hours. Often for home deliveries they assume you work, and will come later in the day.
