Your Questions About Download Old Movies Songs

Robert asks…

How do I put a song on Microsoft Powerpoint from iTunes?????

I have a song on iTunes, but I cant get it on my Microsoft Powerpoint.

Nagesh answers:

Step 1. Download your music in MP3 or WAV format.

The best format to download songs in is in the MP3 format. This has the smallest file size. However there is one big problem with mp3 files – you can only link but not embed mp3 files into PowerPoint.

(This will not be possible if you are downloading music from the Apple iTunes service. If you have downloaded music from Apple iStore you will first need to convert them to mp3 format http://www.bpurcell.org/blog/index.cfm?mode=entry&entry=1036) You will also need to make sure that you have all of the copyright permissions and performing rights clearances to be able to store the music in your presentation.

Step 2. Insert the music in your PowerPoint presentation.

From the main menu Insert > Movies and Sounds > Sound from file

Then from the Files of Type drop down box select mp3 format.

You will then get a message about how you want the music to start

Step3 – Setting the music to play across multiple slides

A lot of people have asked if it is possible to keep the music playing across multiple slides- for example if you wanted to make a slide show of someone’s life with music playing in the background – or it could be a useful feature at a trade show.

You do this using a feature called Custom Animation. Select your music file then Right click (not the usual left click) and select Custom Animation. You can do this by selecting Slide Show > Custom Animation

How you do this depends upon which version of PowerPoint you are using.

For older versions of PowerPoint

Then select Multimedia Settings afterwards and make sure that you have selected While Playing >Continue Slide show You will then need to set the Stop Playing button and enter in the Stop Playing > After number slides the number of slides that you would like the music to play for.

If you are using PowerPoint XP the procedure is slightly different

Custom Animation > Right Click on Media and select Effect Options

You will then need to set the Stop Playing button and enter in the Stop Playing > After number slides the number of slides that you would like the music to play for.

Step 4. (Almost there). How to embed music in your presentation

The last gotcha in the process is that the music may not be embedded in your PowerPoint presentation. This means that is you save your presentation onto a CD or you are to email it, then the music may not automatically go across. It all depends upon the file size of the music.

If you want the music to be embedded in the presentation you will need to follow a couple of steps.

1. Make sure your music is in WAV format (mp3 files can only be linked and not embedded)
2. Increase the value in the Link sounds with file size greater than box to a value greater than the file size of the MP3 file. For example if the file size is 4.5MB then you will need to include a value higher than 4500. A good general purpose size that should incorporate most song files is 6000 as most mp3 files are less than 6MB. Be careful as some classical music tracks could be longer than this.

The only downside is that the file size of the final file could be quite large.

There is a 50 Mb limit for embedding WAV files. For eample if you had two WAV files of 34 MB the you will be able to embed them, but it would make your file size over 68MB.

Birthday party ideas for teen girls?

I’m having a birthday party and I need some ideas for what to do.
I’m in high school; most of my friends are freshmen or sophomores.
I’m planning to rent a movie, and I would appreciate ideas for that too.
Thanks in advance!

Nagesh answers:

Renting a movie is a great idea- it’s always a crowd pleaser. I would just make sure you get a couple of them and then let people choose which one they want to watch when they get there, that way you don’t have any unhappy guests.
Here are some movie ideas:
Comedy:
Juno
Legally Blond
Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist
In Her Shoes
Baby Mama
Sad:
P.S. I love U- (My friends and I cried at this for hours)
Horror:
Prom Night
Haunting in Connectiut
Haunting of Molly Hartley
I hope these helped!

Here are some other party ideas:
Hawaiian Lou ou (I did this one for my 12th, and even though I was only in middle school it was soooooooooooo much fun! You can get flower leighs and decorate to look like the beach, u no… With palm trees and that sort of thing. Serve snacks in beach buckets with small sand shovels for serving spoons. Have everyone come dressed up, like as hula dancers or as surfers. Then give prizes to the best costumes! For dinner, serve kabbobs and juice served in coconuts. You can even download some hawaiian stuff off of itunes. This is waaaaay fun for everyone, and you can get the decorations and stuff from pretty much any party shop.)

Back Yard Camping Trip- (I used this one last year. It was awesome! I set up a tent in the backyard, and then we did a weenie roast and had burgers on the grill for dinner. I used the outdoor fireplace, and we roasted marshmallows for s’mores. I got some songs off of itunes for the thing, and then we watched a movie on my portable DVD player in the tent that night. It was a great time. WE also played flashlight tag and told scary stories in the tent. You can do pretty much any kind of cake and icecream u want, and hardly any decorations are needed. Just make sure you buy plenty of bug spray- trust me, you’ll need it.)

Bowling Party- (Okay… It sounds dorky, but its actually really fun. I’ve never had one, but my friend did, and it was soooooooo awesome. Most bowling alleys have a special birthday party room with like seven lanes and a free arcade. This is fun because u don’t have to do any setting up and u can bowl or just hang out with your friends all night. U can have gaming tournaments- most places have like a pool table or a fooseball table or something- or just hang out and talk or whatever. Also, u can invite a lot of people without having to do ANY clean up whatsoever. This one never gets old.)

Girlz Night In- (Sleepovers r always a win-win situation. They’re foolproof. There are endless things to do. Makeovers, spa treatments, movies, group games, and an endless snack bar are just a few ideas. For group games, u can do things like truth or dare, or firehouse. There’s a great book I know for spa treatments, it’s called the Klutz Body Book. It has things like face masks, scrubs, steams, and toners that you can make, body salts, soaks, pore invigorators, and lotions. It comes with mini botanical oil bottles, for you to make your own all- natural spa treatments- it even has a recipe for a fun spa drink!- u can’t lose with this book. Makovers are always fun- makeover ur friends to look hot or just totally gothic, it’s up to u! Just a tip- people never stop being hungry at a sleepover, and it’s likely you’ll be up till way past midnight, so stock up on the junkfood.)

Here are some other party theme ideas that I don’t know so much about, but I’ve heard that they’re fun:
*Pool Party
*Dance Party
*Cooking Party
*Project Runway Party (I don’t know if you’ve heard of the show- it’s a designing competition and for this party I guess that you could have your guests design things for prizes- sounds fun.)
*BBQ (Always fun, and easy.)
*Out to dinner (ask ur friends what foods they like first- that way there’s something on the menu for everyone)
*Hollywood Party (Have ur friends dress to impress. Unroll a red carpet and videotape them as they arrive, looking stunning. Watch the video later with them and give awards for the best outfits.)
*Stay in a Hotel (The price for this one would probably be pretty steep, but u can trash the hotel room and not have to worry about picking up. Splurge on room service and video games and stay up all night long.)

I hope this helped! Birthdays r special, so don’t blow them off. Think about them. A lot.

Can someone tell me about youtube uploading speeds?

I’m currently trying to upload a video to youtube using the old uploader and but it has been taking hours. The video is about 3 minutes 45 seconds, and is 73kb. Does anyone know about how long it should take

Nagesh answers:

Video should not be 73kb… It is probably the project file of movie maker and not the actual video…

The upload will fail if you upload the project file..

Ensure the file format is correct before uploading to youtube…

Using windows movie maker — you have to save it into the proper file format, that is “wmv” file (use the “save movie file” on the menu at the top left) before upload..

The WMV file will be smaller in size but still quite good quality.. So uploading it will be faster.

–for best editing….

Use windows movie maker (included in your windows machine)… It can help you make beautiful slideshow or video clip(e.g. Mixing your songs with pictures/video/etc)…. Then save it as video file such as wmv file format… Finally upload.

Or .. Just get those clips you want , save & convert them, and then mix/match with pix/sound/etc using windows movie maker to create new masterpieces….

This will help you…. Use ‘zillatube’. This is the easiest (and also the fastest) way.

Zillatube produces mpg/mp3 formats from youtube that are compatible with windows movie maker(or media player), and more.

It is very easy to download and convert videos. Then edit those converted mp3/mpg videos with windows movie maker… Save your file as wmv and then upload.

It works very well….just google search for “zillatube”

Donald asks…

Can I put the music from my iPod to my macbook pro?

I just got a macbook pro and I want to put the music from my iPod on there because my old computer crashed. But every time I connect it it says if i sync it will erase the stuff from my iPod. Is there a way i can transfer the music to my laptop?

Nagesh answers:

If your songs purchased from iTunes, In the Apple official company FAQ, Apple originally stated that:

Synchronization occurs only in one direction, from your computer to your iPod. This means you cannot transfer music, automatically or manually, from your iPod to a computer(only for purchased music), and you cannot use iPod to copy a music library from one computer to another.

With the release of later iTunes , Apple revised the company FAQ to note (emphasis added):
Synchronization generally occurs only in one direction, from your computer to your iPod. This means you typically cannot transfer music, automatically or manually, from your iPod to a computer, and you cannot use iPod to copy a music library from one computer to another.

An exception to this is the transfer purchases feature which allows you to restore purchased iTunes
content to your computer from your iPod. Additionally, if you legally are allowed to copy music or other media files, you can configure your iPod as a storage drive to move media files.
The higher version of iTunes allow one to use an iPod to transfer songs purchased through iTunes to as many as five authorized computers. This only works for songs purchased through iTunes, not those ripped from CDs or downloaded from other sources, which are much more common.

This restriction was designed to discourage casual music piracy, but unfortunately, this also prevents one from easily copying legally acquired music from one’s own iPod to their own computer. If you need to restore a music collection lost due to a system crash or want to transfer thousands of songs to a new computer using your iPod rather than again rip hundreds of CDs, fortunately, there are a number of easy to use freeware and shareware programs that make it simple.

For MacOS X, try iMacsoft iPhone to Mac transfer. Http://www.iphone-to-mac-transfer.com/
For MacOS 9, try escapePod and iProber. For Windows, try Cucusoft iPad iPhone iPod to computer transfer http://www.allmediacopy.com/how-to-transfer-ipod-photo-movie-music-playlist-to-computer-and-itunes.html (and Support iPhone too,For Linux, try GUIPod as well as YamiPod (which supports MacOS X, Windows, and Linux).
Hope it helps yeah!!!

Good luck

Lisa asks…

Musically what was the last thing that made the hair on the back of your neck stand up?

I went to the Birmingham (UK) “We Will Rock You” show yesterday, and I wasn’t really going with any expectations (that way I cannot be disappointed) and it was phenomenal. Humor, emotion, great singing, great acting, perfectly put together, great atmosphere, split into two parts to stop your backside aching and a reasonable price.

Nagesh answers:

For me music isn’t just a listening experience. I’m that weird, nerdy, anti-social guy in the halls that has headphones on 24/7 at work. When I listen to music I see sights, images, memories come back to me. Some are vastly more powerful than others. And the sounds that strike a chord with me are so eclectic. Folk here, bluegrass there, techno over there, rock, rap, old school Texas country, opera, classical, orchestral.

Adagio for Strings is still powerful for me.

And O … M … Fing … G … If you can listen to Miserere Mei Deus and not have a spiritual experience then you were born with no soul, I’m so sorry.

I have a long list, but some of the more spine tingling moments in a song occur not during the entire song, but at precise moments in those songs. Those seem to have the most impact on me, and what’s funny is it seems like it’s not the sound at that moment, but the absence of sound at those precise moments that made my mind race.

Listening to Electronaut by VNV nation for the first time was just one such moment. During the song at minute markers 3:54 & 4:48 I felt my whole body flush beginning at the tail bone and traveling up over my head to my eyebrows. This song conjures up a scene in my mind … One, I might add, that would make a pretty bad@$$ scene in an action movie. And then I re-experienced it when I saw a video of the song in concert over in the UK; I wish that travel from Texas to the UK wasn’t so pricey 🙂

OH!! … And Dayvan Cowboy by the Boards of Canada! I downloaded that one because I heard part of it on Adult Swim (I think), and took it to work with me. Minute marker 2:19 … Sent absolutely ridiculous shivers up my spine. I became helplessly lost in this music. I like stopped doing everything and I think I just stared at the wall. A whole event from the past I wish I had played out in my mind. It was a completely visceral world with sight, sound, smell, touch, & yes even taste (you had to be there) … A world that was completely shattered when my a**hole boss interrupted me with some stupid f@#$ing thing about TPS reports (yes, we actually have those at my job) … Luckily that’s why MP3 players have back buttons.

I also have to admit that I saw this Marie Digby chick on YouTube singing an acoustic version of Linkin Park’s What I’ve Done that got to me, and Linkin Park’s version actually hit me fairly good too.
