Your Questions About Download Old Movies Online

Betty asks…

Can someone help me with Internet speed?

I have fairly fast Internet (Its not AT&T or Comcast, it’s through my cable company) but when someone plays an online game or watches netflix in the other room, it tends to slow down by a large deal. Is there someway that I can prevent this from happening w/o switching over to another internet provider?

Nagesh answers:

The term that measures network speed is bandwidth. Bandwidth consumption is also sometimes referred to bit rate. In the old days, dial up connections averaged 5kb/sec (5 kilobytes per second). Today, DSL speeds usually begin at 128kb/sec (cheap low, end) to 700kb/sec high end. Available bandwidth (those that are offered by the ISPs) are advertised beginning at 1.5MB/sec up to 15mb/sec.

In many cases, the low end DSL service caps bandwidth consumption. That is, if you are watching streaming media (Netflix) and are trying to download a movie from iTunes, the ISP will prevent you from consuming more than what you paid for. Believe it or not, there is finite amount of bandwidth available at any given time. This is especially true since the advent of smart phones.

There is a website that can tell you how much bandwidth you have available. Just Google DSL reports and go to the link. The website will perform a bandwidth test from you location to several Internet Backbones and report the results. The other thing you can do is report the problem with your service provider. Since you have cable and not DSL, you shouldn’t have many of the restrictions that DSL customers have. The problem could be at their end. Also, make sure your cable-modem and router are functioning properly. Hopefully your cable company provided you with your equipment; if that is the case, they can test your Equipment remotely from their offices. If there is a cap on bandwidth consumption, they should also tell you of that as well.

Is there a free program to help free some space on my hard drive?

I tried clean your mac, but its not free. Is there a program I can download to free some space on the hard drive? I’m running Mac OS X 10.4.11, Tiger. Thanks.
Again I’m using a mac. So I don’t think it has a disk defrag.

Nagesh answers:

OSX takes care of defragmenting itself – check online with Apple.

As for freeing up space, first thing to check is what is actually taking up the space – ie your downloads, photos, movies, music could be the culprits.

Double click on your hard drive and change to list view and under view options (Command J) select calculate all sizes. This will give you an idea of the space hogs. Don’t delete anything from the Library folders which contain your system files.

Delete or move older files to a removable hard drive/burn to disc and then delete.

What are the differences between PS2 and PS3?

i want to buy a playstation but i dont know what is good..guys,if PS3 doesnt have a wiifi, can you tell me what is the difference between PS2 and PS3?

Nagesh answers:

PS3:

Built in WiFi
Can go on internet
Can download games, music, videos, demos, TV shows, and extra add on content for games off the PS Store.
Free online play
Universal friend list
messaging to friends
text, voice, and video chat
Can play pictures, Blu-ray movies, DVDs, CDs, music from mp3 players, among many other things
PS Home, virtual community to meet people and chat with friends (free)
All models can play PS1 games, certain models can play PS2 games—60GB model, 20GB model, and Old 80GB model.

Games are infinitely better, with larger worlds, smarter enemies, better physics, vastly improved graphics and gameplay, allowing form more people to play at one time, more things happening on screen at once, and generally a more believable and better game experience.

PS2:
Plays PS2 games, PS1 games, DVDs.
Has a huge back catalog of games

What are some things to do on a long flight?

I’m going to America in April, and the plane trip is approx. 14 hours from Sydney. I was just wondering what people in the past have done while on the plane to keep busy? 🙂

Also, I find it really hard to sleep on a plane, but I guess i’ll have to try at some stage.

Thanks everyone 🙂
Also I’m a female 16 year old and I’ve got my family coming with me, so I can always talk to them

Also, is there a way to charge your ipod/iphone on a plane? Probably a weird question but my phone will be dead by the time I leave Australian waters.

Nagesh answers:

I make several trans-pacific flights per year. There are heaps of things to do while on board to pass the time. Suggestions include but not limited to:

1) in-flight entertainment: most airlines offer movies, games, etc. You can easily kill 30 min to 4 hours messing around with this stuff

2) if you own an ipad or laptop: download your favorite tv shows or movies. With a decent pair of headphones you can sit back and chillax as you past the time viewing your favs.

3) do you read? Bring a good book or two or e-reader got a stack of magazine you haven’t read? I often leave me old mags behind after i read thru them.

4) sleep: i typically try to get as much sleep as i can. Sometimes sleeping upto 10 hours. This leaves me fresh and ready to explore or get on with me day upon arrival.

5) knit, sew, crochet, color, draw, do homework, play cards, etc…….

Most airlines will have some way to charge your phone. USD seems to be the most common. You might even be able to find info online or call your airlines to get more detailed info before departure about the type of power changing support the aircraft you’re on will have.

Enjoy your trip!!!!

How to create presentation videos of software applications?

I have a software called as eyespeak which is an application of speech recognition technology. I want to create a presentation video of the eyespeak software? Any free software available? Please reply..

Nagesh answers:

Try free scree recorders like

AviScreen is an application for capturing screen activity in the form of AVI video or bitmap images. Beside the usual options defining the capture area, AviScreen has a unique feature called “follow the cursor”. Using this mode you can produce a video or image of relatively small dimensions while covering all mouse activity over the whole screen area.
You may stop or pause the video capture at any moment. Allow a delay before stopping or pausing the capture by leaving the cursor in its last position, then use the shortcut key or the popup menu to stop/pause. If you use the popup menu to stop/pause the capture, the process will also be captured and may need to be trimmed later. When the computer is slow or very busy, sometimes it is necessary to hit the shortcut key several times before it works.

CamStudio
CamStudio is able to record all screen and audio activity on your computer and create industry-standard AVI video files and using its built-in SWF Producer can turn those AVIs into lean, mean, bandwidth-friendly Streaming Flash videos (SWFs)

Here are just a few ways you can use this software:

* You can use it to create demonstration videos for any software program
* Or how about creating a set of videos answering your most frequently asked questions?
* You can create video tutorials for school or college class
* You can use it to record a recurring problem with your computer so you can show technical support people
* You can use it to create video-based information products you can sell
* You can even use it to record new tricks and techniques you discover on your favourite software program, before you forget them
