First off, I need to clear up exactly what is nto working. If you mean that the movies you download have no sound to them that is normally a simple problem to fix. However if you mean that DURING the download, you have no sound at all from your computer (I.E. Background music, windows beeps, etc etc) that are not related to the file you are downloading, then that is a much tougher problem.

I am assuming that the first problem is what your having. This happenes alot, especially downloading from share servers like Limewire, where the content you are receiving is or has been modified via other users. The first thing I would look at with this problem is trying other media files. Activate some old media files, WITH VIDEO that were already saved on your machine, ensure these work. If these do not work either, well then you stilll end up with a big problem, mostlikely the cause is your media player and should be updated/re-installed. More than likely this isn’t the cause either, and you can rest easy that it is something simple.
The next thing to check, and the most probable cause of the problem, is to try to run the media with another media player, most people have media player from windows, but there are usually additional players on the machine, so try that step. If it works on them the problem is most likely that Media Player needs to be updated with the newest formats. If you cannot test it because you have no other media players, do a search for codecs and install some of those packages. After that try it again, and see if the sound works. This is most likely the cause, especially if you see pictures without sound. Codecs come in wide varieties, and are basically formats for how sound is written in the file, and how to play it. Sound on a video is a different format than the format used to play a song, which is commonly wmp or mp3 formats. Now if this doesnt work I wanna stress one more step before you go any further, download other media from the net, rather than limewire, and see if there are any sound issues with those files. I have not used limewire for years, and when I did I was very cautious of what I got. I hear they are far more reliable now, but I still believe they are a large volume of transportation for virus/trojan files and add/spyware. The videos are almost always editted, most times just to change formats so a user can watch them on his machine, because most users all have different media players, and it is during these format change that the sound is also formatted, and maybe too a format that is not as popular with certain users, and that is what will be fixed by downloading some codecs. I hope this helped, it really is a broad problem, and can be any number of things, I just tried to point out the most common and easy ones to test.

I personally am super way into reggae music…I love Bob, Damian, Eek-a-mouse, black uhuru, yellowman, Gregory Isaac…

But along the lines of rock, I can tell you some of the classics are awesome: Anything Zeppelin: Tangerine, Hey Hey What can I do?, In the Light, That’s the Way, Kashmir, Good times, Bad times, Ramble on, Going to California, Rain song, Houses of the Holy, fool in the Rain, & their most beautiful song (in my humble opinion) is All of My Love

Also, I suppose Eddie (Pearl Jam) is my FAVORITEST of all time outside the genre of reggae, and he can sing absolutely anything he wants and make it perfect! I love his rendition of the Who’s, “Love Rein o’er Me”…Their new cd is awesome, it has songs such as The Fixer, The End, those two are my favorites so far…but his older stuff is just as magical…My favorite is Black…I also like: Corduroy, Dissident, Once, Porch, Deep, Blood, or Eddie’s solo, Hard Sun…
So, those are just SOME of my favorites…you can download most of them through Limewire if you cannot find them elsewhere…

As for movies, I love the horror movie The Strangers…I think that would be my favorite horror movie as of late…We just bought the 1993 sequel to the 1979? Original of When a Stranger Calls. It is called, When A Stranger Calls Back…Although it has some of the corniness of the early nineties, it is an original plot, and we really liked it.

Comedies that we really enjoy: CLUE is my favorite…Also, Along Came Polly, Singles, Office Space is super awesome!! & another of my favorite all time movies is The Usual Suspects. Great movie!!
