Take a look at the tutorials for Windows Movie Maker at http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/Tutorials/ – it may be WMM is all you need. It really is foolproof except that it’s picky in what file formats it takes and the lack of native support for multiple video and audio tracks are a definite disadvantage (but there are workarounds)
The version 2 series were probably the most versatile, you can find them here – http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/windows-movie-maker.html – but you’ll have problems installing the older versions on Windows 7.

I heard from popular science that you can hak your xbox(the old one) and make it like download and store movies from you computer and stuff. How do you do that and whats the cost?

Yes there is a way to do this. You need to be careful though. First you need a “mod chip”. The one i used was an Xecuter mod chip. You can find them easily online. Make sure you read the description of what they do. Find a tutorial for your mod chip and how to install it. Each one is different, some require soldering to your motherboard, others you can just plug in. Each one can do slightly different funtions. Mine also came preloaded with the Slayer Bios (the program that will run when you don’t have a disk in.. On an unmodded xbox its your home screen where you can change the time, etc.) Once you have a modchip, a bios to load onto it (if not already included) and directions on how to install it. You can do tons of stuff. I replaced the original 10GB Harddrive with an 80 GB one. If you’re really adventurous you can do a lot more. But the main thing is to find a tutorial on what you’re looking for. Thats how i modded my original xbox.
The cost to mod your xbox depends. Mod chips for original xbox’s will cost between $20-$50 depending on what kind you get (the more soldering you have to do, the less expensive the mod-chip). If you want to save movies and games to your HD you’ll want to replace it. So figure out what size you want and shop around for a good deal on an internal HD. Overall it shouldn’t cost you more than $150 once all said and done. It could cost a lot less or a little more.. It just depends on what HD you decide to install.

What is the likely cause of BSOD after 10 minutes use?
Interestingly, it seems to happen after about ten minutes of use, but then is fine after restarting. Also, it doesn’t really restart. It goes to a screen which shows the dell logo, and XPS8300 with F2 and F12 options, or something like that, but seems frozen. No buttons work and nothing happens for a few minutes. So I push the power button ( not hold down) and it switches off completely. Then I push the power button again, and it starts up and works fine for the rest of the night.
I have downloaded and used pirated software, and many movies etc. I have used AVG free and have had virtually no problems for years. This new computer is about seven months old and bsod started two weeks ago.
I have run malware, removed several possible causes ( according to online info) such as virtual drives, and the problem persists. I have as aware, avg, and recently superspybot ( something like that) and malwareaware.
I did SRC scan and all was fine. I am running windows 7, fully updated.
I checked video drivers, and they Senn fine. I did a graphics stress test and it was doing fine then I stopped it after five minutes when it seems max temp had been reached with no problems.
I then decided to use a restore point but found I had none. Oops.
If problem persists then I will reinstall.
Unfortunately, my Gf usually uses the computer before me when it crashes so I couldn’t get any codes. I will try to get some.
The warning I saw was the ‘serious problem shutdown to prevent damage’ or something to that effect.no time for codes before it changed screens.
It is not a big deal, I guess, but the fact that it BSOD makes me feel like it is broken and since it is new I am bummed about that, and feel the urge to fix.
100% defragged etc.

How do I download older versions of Sony software?
Sony seems to like being a tit on stuff like this, even in the customer service area so I’m asking this here.
I had Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 and Sony Acid Music Studio 8 on my computer, I had bought them online vs. hard copies (my biggest regret) and my hard drive blew for unrelated reasons. So long story short my hard drive wiped and I no longer have them, the problem now is that those are no longer the most up to date versions, so I can’t find any download links for them. My serial numbers do not work on the new versions and I’m now left without my software. Am I just going to be forced to buy the new software or something else or is there a way to get the old versions?
