Joseph asks…
can i download a movie off of a dvd and make a audio soundtrack from it?
I‘ve got a dvd of an old movie musical from 1985 and would like to find a way to download movie onto my computer and make an audio soundtrack off of it, to put on a cd for my own personal use. Is that possible? I‘ve got windows media, and audacity programs on my computer.
(the soundtrack isn’t for sale anymore or else i‘d just buy it rather than go to all the work, lol)
Nagesh answers:
Yes you can but what ever you do, do not sell it because that is illegal. Doing one for yourself is one thing but copying it and selling it as your own is illegal and you could get locked up for a pretty good time for copyrights.

Can a movie thats lips are out of sync with the words be fixed?
I‘ve downloaded a few movies recently & in some of them the mouth is out of time with the actual speaking, usually about 5 or 6 seconds or something. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to correct that problem, & if so, how? I‘m not computer illiterate but I‘m not a genius with it either, so if you could explain it in easy terms that would be good. Thanks.
Nagesh answers:
Yup. If you have an older computer it could just be that its taking too long to process the codec. It could be the video player, I’d recommend VLC player for Windows XP or GOM Player for Windows Vista (including 64bit) If your burning them to DVD try reincoding them to standard DVD size and bitrate before burning, if your watching them on a divx enabled player, try reincoding them to a standard divx or xvid size and bitrate (I don’t know what the standard sizes and bitrates are, but you could probably just rip a dvd, open it in a player and check the properties under the file menu. If the audio is ACTUALLY out of sync, you’ll need a video editor, I don’t know of any free ones, but I like Sony Vegas (it’s expensive so maybe you can find a “friend” who has a copy) and you’ll have to open it up adjust the audio track till it lines up and then reincode it. Good luck!
Peace

I like the old windows movie maker on my XP, how do I install that on my windows7?
I like the old windows movie maker on my XP (even vista’s was better), how do I install that on my windows7?
Nagesh answers:
The XP version (2.6) that was developed for the underpowered Vista computers that couldn’t run Vista’s 6.0 will install and run on Windows 7. All the titles, effects and transitions created for the XP version will run on 2.6. The only thing it lacks is the video capture option (direct download from a camcorder or a camera) so most people have both 2.6 and Windows Live Movie Maker on their Windows 7 machines, using Windows Live MM to capture and save video to their computer. 2.6 imports videos and audio/music just like the old XP version (2.1)
