How to play old games that use older Directx?
I’m trying to play a game that’s from 2000, and I have Directx 9.0c on my computer. This game used Directx 7, and it has some issues. I confirmed that they are a result of the Directx incompatibility. So is there any kind of utility or application that allows you to play older games with older Directx? Kind of like DOS Box?
Nagesh answers:
The only way would be installing direct x 7 but that is not recommended.

How does one manually start Directx?
I would like to play a game in Safe Mode, so I can use the most of my resources as I fall just short of the minimum requirements. However, upon starting it I get the error that Directx cannot be iniated. (Due to Safe Mode, obviously)
How do I manually start Directx?
Nagesh answers:
You have to go to START — > RUN —– > and type in the run this “dxdiag”
it will let you start your DirectX and their you can do the setup that you are looking for whatever it is 🙂

What is a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and how do I install it?
Whenever I want to play Sims 2 it tells me that I need to install a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter. What is that?
Nagesh answers:
DirectX 9c is a fairly modern specification of graphics options, like PixelShader 2.0. Select a graphics card at the price you want to pay (and type AGP or PCI-E) and Google for it like using “geforce 9600 directx 9c”

Is it a good idea to downgrade from Directx 11 to Directx 9 or 10. I have an Nvidia 8300 graphics card?
I’ve always been able to run games, they’ve always just been slow and I’ve read that my Graphics card isn’t compatible with directx 11. Will downgrading directx help games and such run faster?
Nagesh answers:
The 8300 supports DirectX 10, so use that.
