Is a 40gb Playstation 3 with metal gear solid 4…?
Is a Playstation 3 40gb version that is less than 3weeks old and still has more than 11months left on the receipt, plus metal gear solid 4 worth $275? I’m not greatly impressed by the 40gb, but I have a ps2, and it plays the ps1/ps2 games better than the ps3’s with bc. and the usb ports and all don’t worry me, because 2 is more than enough for my bluetooth headset. Onlything i’m worried about is the memory. Is 40gb plenty for online gaming? I don’t plan on loading my ps3 up with music and movies, but I will wanna download ps1 classics from the store, and downloadable content, and patches for big games like mgs4 and socom confrontation and such. I just don’t wanna run outa memory on like 2-3games lol. if anyone out there has a 40gb i’d appreciate some insight on how the system is and all, this deal is more than fair as it can go for high $300’s low $400’s on ebay.

Is it Firefox or just my computer?
Any Firefox users out there? Today, everything I try to do online is EXTREMELY SLOW. Is anyone else having this problem? I don’t know if it’s Firefox or just my computer. If nobody else is having this problem, then, could downloading a rented movie cause my system to be slower? I rented from iTunes…took 12 hours to download…that was last night and, today, everything is a problem. Could the download have affected this? It was 1.5 GB, I’m on a MacBook Pro, less than a year old. Any advice?
Thanks! 🙂

Reboot (power cycle) your modem and then your router.

How can I make Quicktime 7 work right? Anything requiring 7 will not play, and I have tried redownloading it.?
If I try to watch a movie trailer or something requiring Quicktime 7, I just end up seeing a graphic with the faded Quicktime logo and a question mark overtop of it. Yet I can still watch older trailers or anything that does not require Quicktime 7. I contacted Apple support and their advice was to delete the program and redownload the stand alone version, which I did, twice. The worst thing is that this does not just happen on my personal laptop, but it occurs on all three computers at my house (and yes, all three have had Quicktime 7 installed). Since Apple support is not very helpful, I’m hoping that anyone who has had success with this program can give me insight on what to do. I’m beginning to think that the problem is not with my computer or how I downloaded it, but with the actual program itself. This is very frustrating if you want to watch any sort of movie trailer online, because Quicktime usually had the best viewing options for those of use still stuck with dial-up.

All i can suggest is get somem updated codecs. That is the only reason i got that kind of symbol. Other than that i dont know. If it is streaming you are having problems with that i normal with slow internet. (regardless of dial up or broadband)

Ok, Im 14 and am getting a new laptop for christmas, since my old one crashed. I’m trying to come up with a list of programs to download to it when i get it. Can someone help me with my list? Like give me lists of programs that I might like based on my interests? I like to play games online (strategy, virtual pets, puzzle), sew, download music and videos (I have an ipod), drawing cartoons (creating comic strips), and chatting online (using email and messenger). I also like to speak spanish (it is my second language and i am working on it).
So far, ive come up with the following programs…
-limewire, itunes, yahoo messenger, microsoft student edition, DVDx (to convert my movies to MP3), and internet.
Are there any other programs that you think that I might like? thanks.
So far, I’ve come up with the following
Nagesh answers:
Multimedia:
Winamp – Best for this purpose. Easy to use, customizable, and skinnable!
LimeWire – Be careful, it does carry spyware, so use at your own risk. If I were you, i’d use Utorrent, as it has zero spyware.

Just like Microsoft Office, just different layout. And its free!
Security:
Avast Antivirus – www.avast.com. A free and effective antivirus client. Be sure to update it all the time to catch the most recent viruses.
Spybot – www.safer-networking.org. Again, scan and update.

Whats a good computer game that can run in a window?
anything but sports, preferably tactical combat game, but rpg, fps, any sim game (castle sim, city sim, life sim) that CAN be beaten, but takes a long time, or has a lot of side quests (kinda like fallout 1 &2, or the elder scroll’s series) the sims will work, but the people are just UGLY their faces are all screwed up :/ …… and i need it to run in a window so i can run a movie and music, and still keep an eye on downloads, or switch off game quickly, online games not preferred
i have a sony vaio vgn-fs8900p laptop, it has intel pentium m 1.86 ghz processor, 1g ram, really good audio and an nvidea geforce go 6400 vid card, to make sure i will meet the system requirements 🙂
i have NOTHING on the computer, runescape is no good unless i have a member’s account, and WoW wont install, and all my offline games just feel “old” to me so any opinions appreciated
added details: i didn’t quite make the major point that it has to be able to run in a windowed mode
second added details: the previous added details just looks confusing the more i look at it, the main point is i need a game that can run in a window, and if you knew me personally, game consol is out of the question, the only T.V. we have is smaller than my laptop screen, and i am a big computer geek

Dungeon Siege 1 was a good RPG that was quite long. It has a very good story line to it and even has a multiplayer that can be played solo. The multiplayer world is different than the single player world. So, when you do beat the single player, you can start playing the other one in multiplayer mode. There are also a lot of really good mods for the game to add in new scenarios and storylines. To me, it was a lot of fun and it should run on your system. I believe it can be run in a window as well. You can probably find this game at a bargain price too, perhaps $9.99 – $19.99. The system requirements are as follows:
System Requirements:
– Microsoft Windows 98/Me/2000/XP
– PC with 333 MHz equivalent or higher processor
– 128 MB of system RAM
– 1 GB available hard disk space
– 4x speed or faster CD-ROM drive
– 8 MB 3D graphics card
– Sound card, speakers or headphones required for audio
– Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
– 56.6 Kbps or better modem for online play. 56 kbps for 1-4 players, broadband or LAN for 5+ players
