Is sownloading movies from Ares ok? Can I burn them to DVDs, my son is always downloading them.?

First, I won’t go into the legality of downloading movies. There are copyright laws in the US that would make downloading movies a crime. Actually, I don’t know if it’s the act of DOWNLOADING or the act of UPLOADING or MAKING AVAILABLE that is illegal. I would think the later.
Anyway, you can find tons of movies at various BitTorrent sites. I use these as a few to find certain TV shows…

I don’t know about downloading movies but the preview for episode 8 is on the hbo website. And from the looks of the preview, it is going to be even better than last nights episode.

Saddly enough, in this country when it comes to movie downloads, “free” equals “illegal”. You can look for places like netflix that have cheap rental fees and deliver to your house, or you can visit www.66stage.com where you can watch movies streamed over the internet.

I’m looking for somewhere that I can download movies for free to burn to DVD for personal use only. I know Joox but they only have a handful of films now. I’m not interested in legal questions or copyright, this won’t be something I’ll be doing en mass or for profit. Anyone know any good easy to use websites for P2P file sharing of movies?

Download a programme such as utorrent (http://www.utorrent.com) it’s free. Then use websites such as:
isohunt.com
piratebay.org
mininova.com
Use the search bar to find the movie you want and ALWAYS read the comments left by other users to make sure it is OK and not full of viruses.
You will notice that there is 2 columns with S (seeders) and L (Leechers). The more seeders and less leechers the better as seeders are people who are uploading the movie and leechers downloading. Best times to download are whwen you go to bed and early hours of the morning, I tend to just leave them all going when I go to bed and there done in the morning.
