urers of Direct TV ? Also (extra) copies of that booklet which

what’s the difference between Direct TV box from eBay and the one from DirectTV.com?
I see a lot of people selling Direct TV satellite disk/box on eBay.com. I wonder what is the difference? Why would I buy a satellite box from eBay if I can get a new one from Direct TV by buying one of their program packages? I will have to buy a program package from Direct TV even if I get a Direct TV disk/box from eBay, isn’t that right?

There is no difference in the boxes. Except now you don’t technically own your direcTV box when your purchase them, even if you pay money it is a “lease fee” and you still have to make monthly payments on the box. If you buy one online you’ll own it outright.
But like you said, DirecTV is really agreesive with giving out boxes free or cheap, even if you got to give the box back it is still better to get one cheap or free. They don’t hold their value past 3 years anyway.

Yes.
While both systems are “digital”, that is about the only similarity. The tuners are totally different.

Does it make a difference if you get DirectTV from Qwest or directly from the provider?
We are looking into DirectTV. The Service from Qwest with the bundling thing is 34.95, but if I go to DirectTV.com it’s 29.95. We’d like to go the cheaper route. Am I over thinking this? What if the cheaper one has more fees tacked on? Please help!!!

I was bundled by qwest with directv, when i had an issue with my sat. Service i called directv, they told me to call qwest, qwest told me to call directv. After a couple of more tries , i canceled and went with dish network
