Nancy asks…
how can i get movies to download the legal way?
Nagesh answers:
I believe netflix now has it where you can download movies instead of having them delivered to you to return. But I don’t think you download them to your harddrive…probably through some kind of viewer.
Maria asks…
is downloading movies from megaupload legal?
i’m guessing that the answer is yes. but if i pay for a premium membership to download more movies, would that screw me over even more? like, would the government be able to track me down more easily because of the payment that i made? it would be on my bank records and stuff.
Nagesh answers:
1st Megaupload Just Host the file…..It is someone who uploaded it there
If Megaupload get complaints about the file uploaded for example “a movie that just came out”
by people(who love the people who made it or like to spend movie buying them” MEGAUPLOAD
Will remove the file.
2nd I don’t think its illegal to download the movies as you are not sharing it online
But the one who uploaded it and shared it can be in trouble. Because Sharing copyrighted material is illegal…
3rd Every day millions of people are downloading movies from the internet…..why would the government will track you ONLY….and if they would i don’t think it will be easy as megaupload protects you identity(i think)
Overall Answer::I think its “LEGAL” to Download but ILLEGAL to Upload/Share
Jenny asks…
Is it legal to download a movie from another country via P2P?
Alright, so I was wondering, if a movie was never released in the United States, is it legal for someone in the United States to download the movie via a P2P client, if it was not released in the U.S. there shouldn’t be any copyrights on the movie in the U.S. and considering it is hard to buy, it seems like the only convenient option…
Nagesh answers:
Probably not, but even if it is, it’s not like the feds will catch you. There are millions of people doing the same thing everyday. Unless you just have some moral issue against doing illegal things.
Laura asks…
is sistermovie.com legal download of movies?
Nagesh answers:
From what I can tell, it looks more like independent movies, not just free bootlegs of popular movies, so it may be legal, but I can’t tell from a first glance. (And also I’m not a lawyer)
