Not to be overly philosophical…

But functional entities (people, businesses, governments, etc.) don’t live their lives as adjustable vectors with a temporarily defined and steerable “direction”.

We all go through our daily challenges and do what we think is best given the situations we’re faced with. Who among us got up this morning and checked their heading to make sure they were “headed in the right direction”?

I submit that all entities (people and institutions) have a basic set of underlying beliefs, core values if you will, that predisposes us to act and do what we do. We don’t take a reading of today’s wind direction and make course corrections. For the most part, we stay the course.

If you’re a politician who reads the mood swings of the voters before knowing what you believe, you’ll have a hard time convincing the majority that you stand for anything.

The Democrats treatment of Joe Lieberman is reprehensible. I guess he just couldn’t bring himself to say “I voted for the war…before I voted against it”.

So the resulting vector wouldn’t go in the x direction or y direction it would go in the – z direction since the vector that we got is a (k) vector and it is negative

Two major groups are recognized: jerk nystagmus, with oscillations that are faster in one direction than in the other, creating a jerky rhythm; and pendular nystagmus, with oscillations that are roughly equal in speed to either side.

Jerk nystagmus is named according to the direction of the fast phase, although the slower, return movement that regains and holds ocular fixation is more important functionally.
