David asks…
Is Direct Tv better or DISH Tv? Best one gets the points if explained?
Nagesh answers:
Direct TV.
Dish Network may claim to have the best customer service in the satellite industry but it seems as if almost every single time I called when I had Dish Network about a problem they were very rude. Some packages are actually cheaper with Direct TV and some are cheaper with Dish Network. I seem to lose more satellite signal though in storms with Direct TV rather then Dish Network.
Mark asks…
Direct TV deals for existing customers?
Is there any deals for existing customers of Direct TV? All I ever see is these deals for new customers. How about those of us that have supported them all these years.
Nagesh answers:
There are no advertised deals for existing customers. You have to call and ask. I call every year and request a reduction in my bill. I been a customer for 6 years now and always pay my bill on time so they go ahead and do it for me. I get free HD service for a year, free DVR service for a year, and $10 reduction for a year. When the year is up I will call again. You should call and ask. If all else fails threaten to cancel service to sign up for Dish. They will usually offer something to get you to stay.
Carol asks…
What is better: Direct TV or Dish Network?
My parents changed from DTV to Dish Network. I’m wondering which one is better cause i’ve had DTV for so long and i was completly satisfied with it (except how there’s no signal for me during rain). So which one would u say is better?
Also help if you could mention why u think one is better. Such as price, quality, channels, signal, and other stuff.
Nagesh answers:
Direct TV has Sunday ticket (only company to have this, and is good if you are a fan of a team that does not reside in your hometown). Overall Dishnetwork is bettar for the following reasons: Cheaper (used to pay $115 for all the cable channels, now I pay $95 a month for all but 2 cable channels and I have internet plus phone included), No disruption in Sattelite signal (when I had Direct TV I experienced a disruption in service 2 or three times a week, no lie, any time a burst of wind came along my service was interrupted), More HD channels available (assuming you even have an HDTV), they only use one reciever for up to 3 TV’s (DirectTV you need a bulky reciever in each room). They are bettar overall, I have not mentioned all of the reasons why I believe so, because I am not writing a freaking essay here. Although, I have experienced bettar technical support from Direct TV, and they are competing in all the areas of customer relations.
Sharon asks…
Is direct tv service any good? ?
I’ve recently moved to Denton Texas and I’ve always used cable/Internet bundles but havent been impressed with the prices or services. Direct tv has by far offered me the best deal with a 2 year contract I’m just very hesitant to take it because I’ve never had satellite or used direct tv before. I realize I’ll have to buy Internet elsewhere and I’ve looked into it and it still all In all comes out 40 dollars cheaper than any cable company has offered me.
Nagesh answers:
We had DirecTV for about 10 years. The service was great for us. We never had problems. We needed to call them for one reason or another, from time to time, and found their customer service pretty good too. The problem was that once the contract period was over they just got more and more expensive. But I think all the TV services, cable and satellite, do this. So we moved to Dish TV, which is not as good overall but we get free HD.
I think the way to do it is to change your service every 2 years, and so take advantage of all the ‘introductory’ prices.

They are running the NFL Sunday Ticket special promotion now.
Outages are rare. It is best to go with a local retailer as they have faster response times for local customers.
