Your Questions About Direct Tv Customer Service

Laura asks…

How much does an entry level in store marketing sales rep make and what to expect?

I have recently received a phone call from a small business, in store marketing firm in regards to a job resume that I had submitted. I have over 5 years retail management experience so I’m wondering what the pay would be like? What EXACTLY would a job like this entail? The position is no door to door selling, no business to business selling, and no telemarketing which sounds fantastic. I know one of their clients is direct tv but it says that they work IN STORE at 5 of the top leading retail chains. It is also a full time job. I can’t find any information on what to expect at all so any information would be much appreciated.

This sounds like a field marketing position. The providers (your potential employer) in this market are often (but not always) engaged by other marketing agencies usually at the lowest cost. I know because we had them in at Gatwick Airport on a regular basis for major marketing campaigns a couple of years ago. The field marketers used, apart from some very good exceptions, came and went even in the space of three months as the provider had problems hanging onto them. The main reason here was low pay I believe.

To answer your question, the role will entail standing in a pop-up display area or standing on your own trying to sell products and services to retail store customer traffic. For some campaigns it could be simply handing out leaflets and answering basic questions. For others it might mean dressing up! Usually the shifts are 5 or 6 hours plus breaks. The pay is minimum wage or slightly above. You may get more – ask them about the package at interview.

If you have 5 years’ retail management experience, then you may get bored with the role.

Best Regards

How much does it cost monthly to “add” the DVR/Recording thing to our Direct-Tv?

I just need some basic information regarding the DirectTv DVR/Recording pricing and stuff for it.I’m thinking about adding it to our television, because all of our friends have it on their Comcast TV‘s and it would be so nice to get! I just don’t know how much it costs. Do any of you have it? Or even know legitimate things about it?
THANKS SO MUCH 🙂 anything helps!!

Nagesh answers:

Adding DVR service to DirecTV account will add a single $6 per month charge which covers all DVRs on the same account.

In addition to the monthly charge, you will have a one time up-front lease fee for the DVR receiver of between $0-$100 for a standard definition DVR or between $0-$200 for a HD DVR. How much this one time lease fee is will depend on how long you have been a DirecTV customer, and what kind of deal you can negotiate with DirecTV.

Sandy asks…

Can I program my Direct TV remote to run my surround sound?

I have an RCA surround sound system and was just wondering how I can program my Direct TV so that I can turn the surround sound off and on and maybe switch the mode the surround sound is on.

Nagesh answers:

Cable and satellite TV remotes should be able to be programmed for other A/V devices. But, their functionality may be limited. If you don’t have those surround mode buttons on the Direct TV remote, for example, you may not be able to use the remote for selecting those. Then again, it may allow you to use other buttons for those functions.

You should either check with the manual that came with the Direct TV remote for programming codes for your surround receiver, or call Direct TV customer service. They should be able to walk you through the process, if it’s possible.

Robert asks…

how well does Direct TVs internet service?

im trying to switch out of comcast because my family and i have experienced nothing but terrible internet service from them. Also didnt apple come out with an internet provider? and how well does ATT internet work? BTW i live in Downers Grove – Oak brook IL, suburbs of chicago. THANKS MAX POINTS!
so i understand now that Direct tv has packages with AT&T, Verizon, and Quest. How well do these internet providers work? whats the speed and internet efficiency? Whats best?

Nagesh answers:

Having been a Direct TV subscriber for half a decade, I have a good feel for how this service measures up. Direct TV has an excellent customer service department. I have needed it more for my TiVo service than for internet help, but they are always helpful and available.

The satellite internet service is just as reliable as the television signal that I receive. I have found it to be excellent in quality. When using the internet service, it has one edge over the television service. Direct TV does not feel compelled to update the programming in the satellite modem every few weeks as they do for the television equipment. This is a nuisance that is not a problem for internet users. The easiest way to deal with a review of this type is just to list the good and the bad. These are basically the same as you will find with any satellite service provider.
