David asks…

How do you fry chicken in the presto cool daddy deep fryer?

Anyone have an easy fried chicken recipe for the cool daddy? Especially how long and at which temperature I should cook it at. Thanks.

Nagesh answers:

Plug in the fryer and pour the cooking oil in, up to the “line,” (don’t overfill). Then turn it on and heat the oil for about 8-10 minutes. Sprinkle your favorite seasonings on the chicken, then dredge in flour. Or put some flour in a plastic or paper bag. Place a coupla pieces of chicken in the bag and shake to coat the chicken with flour.

Place one or two pieces of chicken into the oil once you are sure it is hot. Let the chicken fry for five to eight minutes or until it has reached the desired color that you would like. Once it is done, carefully take the chicken out of the deep fryer and place it on top of a few paper towels to blot up excess oil.
Let the oil heat up again and repeat untill all the chicken is cooked.

How do I make perfect fried bread & eggs?

My fried bread is always either too underdone or gets burnt around the edges! Not sure how much oil to use or how hot to get the pan. All tips would be great, could do with perfecting the fried egg too!

Cheers 🙂

Nagesh answers:

Use butter instead of oil and a thin pan on a medium heat keep turning while frying it should turn out nice and golden with a crusty outside and not too soft inside

assuming you mean what we call egg & bread where you mix pieces of bread with beaten eggs

Carol asks…

How do i replicate the fresh cut french fries sold at the state fairs?

I love these fries. How do i make my own at home? I deep fry french fries at home but they don’t taste as good. Any suggestions?

Nagesh answers:

I know what you mean. This is how works for me.
For the best yield when serving hand-cut french fries, use grade No. 1 fresh potatoes.
Great fries can be made by keeping the skin on to enhance the homemade appearance and flavor. Fries made from peeled potatoes should be chilled after cutting in cold water for 10 minutes to 30 minutes before frying, to ensure maximum crispiness and so they don’t stick together while frying. To prevent darkening, add citrus acid or vinegar to the water solution. Spin dry before frying, to avoid water spattering and to reduce fat absorption Always use clean oil to fry potatoes. Make sure oil is the proper temperature before frying potatoes. Frying potatoes in cold oil will result in more oil absorption by the fries. The oil is the proper temperature when the fries don’t sink when dropped in and bubbles remain on top of the oil.
You can add beef flavor to the oil, like McDonalds.
Overfilling the fry basket can result in limp fries, excess color variation and stuck together fries.
Store raw potatoes at 55╟F. Too cold a temperature will result in sugar streaking or fries that look golden but are not thoroughly cooked.
To ensure proper fry color, make sure oil temperature is correct and not too hot, fries are left in oil for correct amount of time, and oil is not too old or dirty.

Mark asks…

How old do guppy fry have to be to go back into the tank with the adults?

I have guppy fry at various ages in special tanks, when can I introduce them back to the larger tank with the adults?

Nagesh answers:

Well anywhere from 4-6 weeks as long as they are big enough where they won’t be eaten or sucked into the filter. I have a small breeder with about 12 babies in it and they are almost 4 weeks old. I think will probably have to wait at least another week before I release them. After that they should grow pretty fast. Good luck.

By the way it will depend what size the other fish are compared to your fry.
