I am wondering does AMC theaters accept Fandango gift cards?
I got a Fandango gift card for Christmas and am having trouble finding a theater that accepts it. Does AMC accept fandango cards?
If I purchase a ticket online how do I get the ticket?
Nagesh answers:
Haley,
Gift cards can not be used at the theatre box office. However, Fandango is one of our online ticketing partners. You can find out if Fandango is used for your specific theatre by visiting our homepage www.amctheatres.com
1) From there find the theatre you would like to purchase tickets to (by state or zip code).
2) Find the showing and showtime you would like to see.
3) Click on the Showtime
4) You will be connected to Movietickets.com or Fandango.com. If you’re connected to Fandango.com then you can use your Fandango gift card on that website to purchase tickets.
A second option is to visit www.fandango.com directly. Enter your zip code or city/state in the appropriate field. Find the theatre you would like to purchase tickets to. If the showtimes are hyperlinked then you can purchase tickets via Fandango and use your gift card.

What was the name/word on Fandango’s wrist tape last nite?
At ‘mania, Fandango had something written on his wrist? He also pointed to the sky in honor of someone. Any idea who?

How does Fandango work?
I want to buy tickets online from Fandango. I know you need a credit card to do so. However, is the only way to get tickets by bringing your credit card to the kiosk at the theater? Or is there a way to print out the tickets from home?
On the site it says you can also buy using Paypal. So how would that work?
Nagesh answers:
I’ve purchased movie tickets several times on Fandango: http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-3894326-10414509 and printed the ticket on my computer at home. I’ve never had to show my credit card. I just skipped the ticket booth, walked right into the entrance and gave them the ticket I printed from home and went in and found a seat. For some theaters you can download tickets to your mobile phone, too – I’ve never done that so I’m not sure how that works.
Yes you can pay with PayPal and then just print out your ticket at home. You can also buy fandango gift certificates: http://www.dpbolvw.net/36103vpyvpxCGLMHGFJCEDIJFEFM and email them to someone (including yourself) and then use them to buy movie tickets with the gift card code on the Fandango website. Obviously someone who purchases a ticket on fandango with a gift card wouldn’t be required to show a credit card.
Robert asks…
Do movie theaters share in the convenience fee revenue from Fandango or other similar companies?
Researching for a new project and there aren’t many straight answers out there. Anybody have any experience working with Fandango.com or movietickets.com? I’m interested in how the business model works and if there’s a split, what is the industry norm.
Nagesh answers:
The convenience fee goes to the online company. That is how companies like fandango stay in business. Other companies like Ticketmaster, and StubHub do the same thing.
