How hard is it for fedex to send something to another address?
If I need to have fedex change the shipping address on a package going to the same state but to a new address how hard is it to get them to find the package and correct it when the order has not even gone out yet? Is it likely they can correct it and have it sent to the right address?

How hard? Not *all* that hard – but the package may very well be delayed – and Fedex will very likely charge a re-routing fee (usually around $11) to the shipper.
Some shippers have agreements with Fedex that no recipient can call in to make a re-route or address correction – that the shipper has to authorize any such change.
A few shipper even have agreements with Fedex that *no-one* (not even someone from the shipper!!) can make any changes – – and that at *most* they can request the package be returned to shipper (RTS).
If the order hasn’t gone out, then there is no need to contact Fedex – – Fedex doesn’t have the package yet!! Contact the shipper – have the *shipper* change the address, *now* – before they send out any package. Maybe save yourself a few bucks.
Once a package has left the shipper, the simplest way to get around the new address issue (if you haven’t moved far) is to have Fedex hold the package at their stattion or at one of their retail locations (Fedex Office). Then you just have to go *there* and show an ID from the old address.

Depends on the time it arrived and the city you live in. If you are in a major city, where Fedex planes land, less time than elsewhere. You have a tracking number, use the Fedex website to see where it is

What is fedex smartpost and can my package come today?
I got a package shipped from amazon and at first it’s estimated delivery was 29-30. Now it is the 30th, and there is nothing in the mail. Yesterday it arrived only 40 miles away at 5pm, it says it is at “FedEx smartpost” even though it was shipped by usps. Does that mean fedex will be delivering the package and it still may come today, or do I have to wait and get it Monday? Thanks.

Looks like Monday. Fedex only delivers overnight pieces on Saturday.

FedEx is the name of the company. It used to be Federal Express.
UPS used to be United Parcel Service.
Which one is “better” depends on what you’re shipping, and from where/to where. They’re both pretty reliable and their prices are fairly comparable.
