Which site is better direct2drive.com or steampowered.com? And can someone explain?
to me what exactly this sites are about? Can i buy games from them and do they save on my pc or those websites? Are those websites like a storage area or something?

Direct2Drive is a ton better — games are cheaper most of the time and you don’t have to have an annoying client launched every time you want to play a game. Plus had one issue with customer serv. And the d2d customer service team was awesome.

Ive used d2d before, they let you download the same program 3x (but you can email or call them to get more downloads of the same game if you use up your 3 somehow). The only downside is you have to have enough room for the download file + install (of course you can delete the download after install, but you have to have that much at some point, unless you burn to dvd).
I had no issues as far as customer service or anything, they answered all of my questions promptly and effectively .
As far as good games i really cant help you too much there because i dont know what kinds of games you like .

Direct2drive mac download manager issue?
I can’t seem to dl the mac download manager for direcr2drive….it may be really easy but im a new mac user so I don’t know what the issue is. I just dl it and all I get is a text file

Direct2Drive download won’t start?
I just bought Civ 5 off of Direct2drive, and whenever I click the download button, no window pops up, and no download starts. I have the download manager installed and open, and my pop-up blocker is off. Any ideas?

I have downloaded some games from direct2drive (Far Cry 2, Gothic3, GTA San Andreas) and so far everything has downloaded and installed smoothly. From my experience the site is quite reliable.
