Any issues changing channels with Direct TV?
Just made the switch from Dish Network solely for sports packages but am coming across problems. For one, when switching from channel to channel in the guide, it will often show up as a black screen and I have to channel up and back down for the channel to come in. sometimes i’ll get a message “searching for signal” for no reason at all. My wife is really upset and wants to switch back…please help me save my nfl sunday ticket!

Get the Direct TV tech out there NOW….
It shouldn’t be doing any of those wierd things….and I think your Satellite dish is misaligned….
Have them tweak it and MAYBE replace the box with another one. It may just be alignment related, but the channel up/down fix should not happen at all….

Why on my tv i go to the guide and when I look what shows are on it says To Be Announced?
I have direct tv. n on my tv wen i go guide n look at the channel shows are saying TO BE ANNOUNCED how do i get rid of em n put it back 2 normal..

That’s typical on a satellite or cable box when you unplug it from the power outlet, then plug it back in. It takes a while for the box to reload its memory, and in the interim you get the TBA listing on all channels. On my Comcast box, it took about an hour or more for all the TBAs to go away.
If you are unplugging or turning off your DirecTv receiver or DVR for any reason, don’t. It should be left on and plugged into a surge protector that’s powered up. When you turn if “off” with the DirecTV remote, it goes into a standby mode that will preserve the guide memory.

Had to reset Direct TV. Now the guide says “to be announced” for all channels and i can’t dvr. help!!!!

Problems with Direct TV HD channels ?!?!?!?!?
About a week ago we upgraded our Direct TV receiver to an HD DVR box and added the HD programming access. I will say that we did install the dish ourselves. When we turned the receiver on we received all our normal channels but only 4 or 5 HD channels. We called Direct TV and they told us it takes 24 hours for all of them to be put in the guide, it has been way past 24 hours. They have told us to reset it 2 or 3 times and it still only has 4 or 5 HD channels in the guide. The lady told us she has to send a tech guy out because if the satellite isn’t lined up perfectly it won’t show all the channels. Does anyone know anything about this matter ? Thanks

A friend of mine has the dish, & he tells me if it is not lined up right you will experience difficulties. Also in bad weather the signal gets interrupted, & he often has to go up to dish to sweep snow out of it during winter!!!

i have sunday ticket with direct tv but the packers will be playing preseason games what channels? or guide?

Games are shown on the nfl network channel 212 for direct tv…..If not there should be on your local FOX channel….hope this helps
