Can somebody help with our Direct Tv service?

We have 2 dishes,2 recievers,2 t.v’s . We have had strong winds and lots of rain . Now both for 2 days says SEARCHING FOR SIGNAL !We called cust.service ,checked connections,reset recievers,set-up satelite signals and moved dishes . Everything that customer service wanted us to do. Still nothing and they want us to pay $ 80.00 for someone to come out here to fix this problem . Exactly what did we do wrong ?

Double check the azimuth and elevation of the satellite dish. You maybe pointing to the wrong satellite. A strong signal from the wrong satellite with result in no shows. Worst case senario water got into the LNB’s.

I bought direct tv service and I ordered the wrong receiver and noticed.?

it when I came home. I called customer service and they said I cant switch it out since it has been activated. So i am thinking about buying the one i wanted off the internet and if I activate it will I be charged for both receivers or just one. The one I currently have I sell it or will I have to store it and let it collect dust.

Just had 3d upgrade to my direct tv receiver, now it won’t work!?

I turned on my tv this morning and it was working normal until i pressed the list button to watch a recorded show. A message came up saying that they had updated my receiver to 3d in case i had a 3d tv. it then said to hit ok to exit the message. I did that and immediately my screen went black. I pressed various buttons on my remote, but it did nothing. I turned the tv off with it though, so i know the batteries are not dead. Then I tried pressing buttons on my receiver but they didn’t work either. i then did the reset by pushing the red button inside the card panel. The receiver reset itself and the channel that was there before came back on. I pushed the buttons on the remote again, but still nothing. Same deal with the receiver. I tried calling Direct tv customer service at all three numbers but one is always busy and the other two have an automated lady that says “Your call did not go through, please try again”. WHAT IS GOING ON! I want to know how to fix this and watch tv, and i have shows set to record to day!

Same happened to me. Multiple resets worked. D TV site says push red button. When picture appears do a second red button reset.

Is direct TV quality really better than cable?

I have had cable for years….i have HD channels, movie channels…everything. We keep hearing Direct TV quality is so much better. Is this true? We are not unhappy with our cable or anything..looks fine to us. It seems direct TV has all these promotional sign up deals but I am worried when they expire that the price will be jacked up. What are your experiences with Direct TV quality,customer service,price comparison vs. regular cable. Where is the best place to go get Direct TV? Seems like I get a coupon in the mail every other day. I also get attacked in SAMS club every time I got there.

DirecTV has more HD channels. The quality of cable HD and satellite HD is the same. The only difference is that with DirecTV you can’t watch TV while it’s raining.
