Is there a way to install DirectX 10 without using the internet?
I have a computer that has no internet. I need to install DirectX 10, but you need the internet to download some DirectX 10 components. Is there a way to get DirectX 10 that doesn’t require the internet?
Nagesh answers:
You have to download it from the internet – on a computer connected to the internet – to something that you can put on that computer. A flash drive is the usual choice.

How do I find out my current directX version the quickest? And will it be bad if I will just launch a 9.0c ver?
How do I find out my current directX version the quickest? And will it be bad if I will just launch a 9.0c version installer if I already have it?
Nagesh answers:
Go to Start > Run, type in dxdiag, press Enter. This will also display your DirectX version (right on the upcoming ‘System information’ page).
If you have Vista, you can press the shortcut WINDOWS+R to get the Run dialogue.

How do I install directX 9 when I already have directX 11?
My computer won’t run any of my games because it says I need directX 9 in order to play them, but whenever I try to install DX9, it stops and says that I already have a newer version. What’s my problem and how do I fix it?
Nagesh answers:
You don’t. Believe me, you’re better off playing a newer game than sacrificing the best DirectX for a few old games.

What are the effects of running games without DirectX?
There are often games that need DirectX to run, I cant get it because of Windows Genuine Advantage. Please don’t post links to alternate websites thanks.
What are the side effects of running games without it?
Nagesh answers:
Many games require DirectX or at least a specific verion of it. Some game discs include it on the installation CD.
Likely you have it installed but just don’t know it. Go to the run command and type
dxdiag
and click ok.
If that comes up, you have it and can see which version you actually have.
