What is the legal status of online file sharing?
Its been a while since the old ‘Napster’ days. I know everyone downloads using ‘torrents’ and can pretty much find any movie or music they want, download and burn. So is it still piracy? Someone else is uploading it and sharing, then you get it from them without any money being transacted. What is the latest ruling on this? Anyone?

File sharing software IS legal. What you use it for determines whether you are breaking laws or not. If you download public domain media (Which there is little of), you are within the law. If you download copyrighted material without a license, you ARE breaking the law and could be fined. Anyone who tells you differently IS a fool and should read this link.

First it was online chatroom conversations now it is through playstation3?
**Below is a question I had asked 3 weeks ago. I received great answers. I loaded a keylogger on the computer and he stopped his nonsense. Well he is definetly one step ahead of me. Now he accesses porn on the internet via Playstation3. I do not know anything about PS3. Is there anyway I can attach something to the PS3 and track him? Can he type in chatrooms with his controller or just view and download movies? Is he able to view “live” or send photos? Sorry for all the questions, But I am guessing it is just like the computer but I have no way of tracking him and assume he can do and go anywhere via his PS3. Any suggestions? Thank you

****My 15 year old nephew lives with us. Recently we found that he was participating in online sex chatrooms. His conversations were beyond inappropriate ….. actually quite alarming. We obviously had a talk, monitored his use, restricted him to school work only,etc. he said he would no longer do it. We thought maybe it would stop but he just began erasing his history. Short of putting in a key logger, which we prefer not to do as my oldest daughter also uses the computer for work/school,etc. Is there anyway that we can have his chats automatically saved to a file or to a user file or a way to retrieve the sites and conversations off of the hard drive?

You can’t track him. I’d recommend locking his PS3 internet browser with a password. But first you have to know if he has already made a password (which is likely) Basically, on the menu go to.
Settings > Security Settings > Change Password.
Then it will tell you to enter the current password.
If he doesn’t have a password it should be: 0000
If it is, enter a new password you can remember
Now go to.
Security Settings > Internet Browser Start Control
Input your password and set the start control to “On”
This way he can’t access the Internet without a password
Now, if the password isn’t 0000 that means he has already set a Parental Control password, if he has done that then I can only suggest you take it from him or disconnect his PS3 from your internet

Okay i need some one who can give me a website. a website where i can watch all movies (new and old) online with out those stupid downloads. and not ones that freeze up every 10 seconds…ugh soo annoying. also i wanna watch movies like the saw’s and the scary movie’s. its annoying cuz everyone i find either wants my credit card number, my cell number, or wants me to download something that ALWAYS gives viruses. please help meee!!!!

Youtube thats were i watch old movies they are in parts but its just type and play and some are even in playlist form where you dont even have to click anything once you watched the first one.

hiya just a quick [and probably common q] but its not something i normally do myself ….i need to see if i can find some films online to watch as the dvds are unavailable in aus at the moment [not new films ,just some older ones]….does anyone know a site i can go to just WATCH a movie online ….???
