Your Questions About Download Old Movies Online

Sandra asks…

Are children too easily accessing websites containing inappropriate material?

How is indirect censorship through federal or state laws that criminalize the transmission of pornographic material online?

Nagesh answers:

Indirect Censorship through a government agency will make porn more expensive and may slightly stem the flow of the protests which are growing into a human spring. As far as keeping children away from what parents think children should not see, net effect is zilch.

Bristol Palin’s book illustrates what happens when you don’t see to a well-rounded education for your children. Would she have continued to date that boy if she understood relationships better after she had seen convincing evidence that he was unfaithful and used other girls for sex? Would she have agreed to share a tent with him and gotten drunk with him? Would she have laid the blame for her pregnancy on him afterward? Would she have avoided the whole situation if her family had been a little more interactive and willing to discuss realities they somehow considered taboo?

Well, i8f you want to be a responsible parent and keep your child in an infection-free bubble instead of toughening him or her to the realities of the world, and if you truly accept the credo of personal responsibility, then there is a way you can do that.

Get linux. It’s free. Kubuntu is very easy to install, and if you cannot do what your 12-year old clearly can, how have you been personally responsible? Once you install it, you create an account for the child and add parental controls. If you have properly set up your own privileged account and password, they will NEVER be able to circumvent the controls until they know enough to have their own computers. Of course, Johnny may go to Jimmy’s house where the parents aren’t so responsible and think the parental controls on Windows will do… That requires more parenting, and eventually the task becomes overwhelming…

I do not recommend that course. I educated my child interactively, explaining much of how the world works whenever it came up. He knew what a pedophile is by the time he was three and how to avoid them and turn them in as well. He has never been molested and today he treats women with respect, and he does not drink or do drugs. I never stopped him from using the internet, but I did insist that he not download something that would get him in trouble, as in pirated movies. I was always willing to pay for entertainment and educational resources for him, so it did not become an issue.

But the idea that the Government can provide safety for your child at a stroke is an obvious myth. If it could, how have these extensive pedophile rings become entrenched and how have people of good will covered up their inhumanity to children?

Grow up and assume some personal responsibility for your children, then whether the law passes or not, you will have taken the most effective step to assure their safety.

George asks…

should i get a psp3000 or pspgo?

I want to get a psp or psp go. Which is better. Are the games different for each system or are they the same?

Nagesh answers:

For one, unlike the PSP 3000, the PSP Go does not have a UMD slot, which may not be much of an issue in the long run or for those who are new to PSP gaming, but as there is about 4 to 5 years worth of UMD game titles, those who opt to upgrade to a PSP Go may have to wait a little while before a downloadable version for some older UMD titles are available.

In place of the UMD feature the PSP Go is equipped with 16GB of internal flash memory which can be extended to 32GB per 16GB memory stick. Games will be available for download from the PlayStation store. Games can be downloaded in one of three ways from the PlayStation store. You will be able to download games directly to the PSP Go itself, download the games to the PS 3 and transfer them to the PSP Go, or use the Media Go software on MS Windows based computers.

As of now the advantages to owning one or the other are pretty close to even with the PSP Go leading with a couple of advantages over the PSP 3000. The PSP Go has Bluetooth capabilities which will allow it to be tethered with a number of different Bluetooth enabled devices like speakers and DualShock 3 PS controllers, which should make for a pretty cool and more conventional gaming experience.

The new slider design allows for better portability but may feel a little awkward at first for some one used to the wider grip of the PSP 3000. I haven’t heard any talks of the first addition of the PSP Go having any touch screen capabilities, but there have been rumors of Sony considering integrating phone capabilities into future additions of the PSP Go, and being as that the PSP Go would also become a competitor device in the cell phone market. So with that being said it’s almost a no brainer that Sony would implement a touch screen feature, which would make it even more appealing to the consumer.

In my opinion it probably wouldn’t even be worth the time at this point to upgrade from PSP 3000 to a PSP Go, as the 3000 already possesses most off the same capabilities as the Go as far as the gaming experience is concerned. The 16GB of internal storage that’s in the Go may be plus, but it really is no big deal if you don’t mind interchanging your memory sticks a little more often.

So unless you are just really hard pressed to add Bluetooth capabilities to your PSP gaming experience or you are just looking to lighten your load of UMDs and go strictly digital, there is no compelling reason to go and blow $250 to $300 of your hard earned cash on the PSP Go just yet.

Jenny asks…

Should I get a Xbox360 or PlayStation 3?

I was thinking the PlayStation 3 but it too experience

Should I go for xbox360 no fan boy answers please

the xbox wont get ring of death because it going near the window. and it near my ac
I don’t need xbox 360 hd dvd add on and a wireless adapter.

I already brought Bul ray player.

What should i get?

Nagesh answers:

I own both a 360 and a ps3, but consider myself a “nintendo fanboy”, because everyone here seems to be PS3 fanboys, I will attempt to provide you an honest, unbiased, answer (btw the categories are in a random order):

Hardware:
The main reason to own a PS3 right now is Blu ray; even though you already own a player, the ps3 will be able to fit more games onto 1 disc than the 360, but I don’t know anyone that is so lazy they can’t get up for 1 minute to swap out disc after 12 hours of gameplay.

Also, the PS3 is just a lot more powerful than the 360. In the future, we are going to see the ps3 get games that the 360 might not be able to run (or if it can run them, not at the same level, see far cry 2). Gears 2 is about as good as the 360 is going to get, but the ps3 has a lot of bit left in it. However, graphics don’t matter if gameplay sucks, so it is really up to the sony to get out some quality exclusives.

Advantage: PS3

Third party games:
Unfortunately, as sony’s ceo stated today the “PS3 was on life support but is slowly picking up,” this means all the good third party games are being developed for the 360 first and ported to the PS3 (instead of the other way around, which would make A LOT more sense). This means that games end up looking better on the 360, which has weaker hardware. The reason for this is companies like EA know that most of their profits are coming from 360 games (the 360 has sold 20 million+ where as the ps3 is just above 10 million), so they develop on the 360 first, which is less sophisticated than the ps3, and end up under-cutting the ps3s awesome potential. However, a counter point to this would be Japanese games. Japan makes some awesome games, and because the ps3 is the console to own, any game made in Japan is going to be developed on the PS3 first and look incredible.

Advantage: 360

Exclusives:
Additionally, the XBOX has better exclusives right now (Gears of war series, Halo series, Mass effect, Bio shock- which will get ported to ps3), but sony has some cool things coming. I would say that as far as exclusives go, you are buying at the right time, there are going to be a lot of great exclusives available for the PS3 soon, enough to justify owning the system.

Advantage: Even

Online Play:
I don’t feel like I need to spend much time talking about this because no one, not even sony, can say that the PSN holds a candle to Xbox live. Sure, the PSN is getting “home” and it is free, but microsoft developed the 360 with online gameplay at the forefront and it shows. Any hardcore gamer realizes that $50 a year for a gold account is well worth it, and would probably be willing to pay twice that amount. Eventually sony may figure out a way to catch up to Microsoft, but sony just got started too late, microsoft created xbox live way back in the old school xbox days and has had years to tweak and perfect the system. Seriously, it takes time to get support from movie studios/tv networks (not to mention XBOX already has those contracts). Even if Sony is able to improve online gaming, they still won’t be anywhere near the 360 in online multimedia. Currently, if I am bored and want to download a movie (in HD) I can, or if I want to watch south park (manbearpig: half man, half bear, half pig) I can; you won’t be able to do that on the ps3 for years to come if ever.

Advantage: Xbox

Random other crap you don’t think about:

-The ps3 controllers are rechargeable right out of the box (xbox you have to buy rechargeable batteries); however because you can’t remove the battery on your ps3 when it runs out of juice you have to either stop playing or switch controllers; with the xbox you can just pop in some fresh batteries while your others are charging.
Advantage: PS3

-The 360 does not come with wifi right out of the box, that is going to be an extra $80

Advantage: PS3

-The xbox has some sweet noise canceling wireless headphones, the ps3 does not

Advantage: Xbox

Conclusion:

Personally, if all the hardware in the world doesn’t matter if the games aren’t there, and right now they aren’t on the PS3. Sure MGS4 is about to come out, but like MGS3 we will probably end up seeing a port to the 360. I play my xbox about 90% of the time and my ps3 about 10%, because the games are great and xbox live is so much better than psn.

However, the ps3 holds a lot more potential for the future. Stars might align properly for sony (already won with blu ray), and the ps3 may end up blowing the xbox out of the water.

The decision here is a lot like buying stocks, are you a high risk/high reward or a play it safe type guy? If you are willing to risk it, the ps3 may pay off greatly in the end, but then again it may end up flopping. However, the 360 has enough games out now, and enough features available now, to justify getting one and knowing that although things won’t get much better graphically, it will be a safe bet for the next 3-5 years.

Mark asks…

Would you recommend getting a X Box 360, or a Playstation 3?

I have a Playstation 2 and it is getting slow and old. I have a lot of games so I was thinking about getting a backwards compatible (plays PS2 and PS3 games) PS3 on Ebay. It would be nice not to have to get all new games but I’ve heard the X Box 360 is awesome. I also heard that if you get a PS3 that is backwards compatible you have to get a bigger hard drive?? Detailed answers please

Nagesh answers:

As someone who has both I would definitely recommend the PS3

First off the PS3 plays Blu Ray movies which really is the only way to watch movies now a days.

Playstation online is free and despite what a lot of XBox owners say it has a pretty good service that is constantly getting better.

Yeah I’m a big action/adventure fan aswell and PS3 has alot of great IP’s like Uncharted, Infamous, Rachet and Clank, aswell as past generation IP’s that may get revived (Jak and Dexter)

Personally I think the PS3 web browser is great, I went about a month without my computer while it was shipped off to India or something and I did everything from order airplane tickets to watching trailers with little bother.

Yeah I use my PS3 all day and it never bothers me, where as my XBox sounds like a jumbo jet taking off in my room.

Also the PS3 has the option of downloading movies from file hosting sites such as 2shared, netload etc. For free, but that is illegal and up to the user.

So yeah the X-Box is good but I think you’d be better off with a PS3, especially with the just announced proce drop to 300 US dollars and euros

Ruth asks…

Can you watch Netflix on Ipod Video?

The Ipod Video is an older Ipod and doesn’t have wifi. Is there a way to download a netflix movie and still watch it on it?

Nagesh answers:

Hmm that’s the disadvantage of streaming movies online, you need to have internet connection available plus compatible devices of course.

Though I would not go that far as to say there’s no workaround to let you watch Netflix movies offline on your ipod. There are some Netflix recorders that can make this happen for you, like Audials Tunebite for example.

This one can simply record Netflix streaming and convert Netflix videos for ipod or whatever devices you need to watch those movies on in good quality, of course. Should also solve the problem for you in no time.
