How to find if directx dsk is installed ?
I have recently installed Microsoft Visual Studio Ultimate 2012 in windows 7 home premium 64 bit.
I have been given a project to prepare a game in c++ from my class using visual c++ and to prepare the game, i need directx sdk.
I have heard that VS Ultimate 2012 comes with built-in directx sdk, but where can i find the directory of directx sdk ?
I want to know whether i have installed direct sdk while installing VS Ultimate 2012 or not.
I have checked the directory where VS 2012 was installed, but there was no sign of directx sdk installation.
So please guide me in detail how to install directx sdk.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Can you run a directx 10 video card on a directx 9 system?
I was looking at the GTX 260 216 Core and its directx is 10 (and i know all the video cards mostly are becoming 10). Soo would it be able to run on a directx 9 system?
Nagesh answers:
Well two things…
1.) A DirectX 10 video card simply means that DirectX 10 is the MOST it can do. It can do ALL DirectX versions prior to 10.
2.) A GeForce GTX 260 video card is not as good a value as a Radeon HD 4870. Also, the Radeon will support DirectX 10.1 and DirectX 11 while the GeForce will not.
The performance of the two cards is virtually identical but the Radeon HD 4870 is $40USD less expensive than the GTX 260.

How do i get a copy of DirectX version 10 for windows XP?
How do i get a copy of DirectX version 10 for windows XP.
Nagesh answers:
Short answer is, you can’t…. DirectX 10 is ONLY used with Windows Vista and above (due to the change in how the drivers work on the new OS).
DirectX 9.0c is the latest version that supports Windows XP.
To be honest, there is little advantage to trying to get DirectX 10 – there are only a handful of games that support it (Crysis for example) .
If you need further advice regarding this – check the wikipedia page below….

How do I determine if my A and V cards are DirectX compatible?
I’m looking at a piece of computer hardware that says my computer’s “sound and video cards must be Microsoft DirectX 9 compatible”.
How can I determine if the A and V cards that are installed in my computer are DirectX compatible?
Nagesh answers:
Look them up online at bestbuy. Any cards made within the last 5 years should be compatible.
